I was just on the USPS website, all set to order US stamps – and they don’t accept international orders. Would anyone be willing to buy stamps and mail them to me? I’d pay you through paypal.

Why do I need stamps? I’m querying agents and some require a self-addressed stamped envelope (some don’t use email – go figure). Canadian stamps don’t work in the US postal system!

I’m guessing she can use Canadian stamps to mail in to the US, but for a SASE originating in the US, that won’t work. 🙂

Right on! If you’re in the States and you throw something with a Canadian stamp in the mailbox, I think the workers there just get a laugh or scratch their heads (and vice-versa, I’m sure).

Correct. You can only use the stamps used in the country it is originating from. In Iceland, you’d have to mail things using stamps from Iceland. In the US, you’d have to mail things with stamps from the US, etc. You can receive things from anywhere, but you can’t mail things with postage from another country. 🙂 Currency isn’t the same in each country, so a stamp that is $3 in Canada isn’t necessarily worth $3 in the US. Stamps are also a source of revenue for each country’s postal service.

well I think I misunderstood something 😆 I thought that dragonmedley was sending from Canada, and that the stamps couldn’t get through to the US, stupid me haha
