Pink! o.O That is so very recent….This isnt looking good at all

Gosh that’s sad… 😥 Maybe she planned to pass these on to children/grandchildren and the rest of the family didn’t know? Maybe she passed suddenly and didn’t have time to tell anyone what she wanted done with her Windstones.
February 12, 2008 at 1:03 am #663964That is really recent! Anyone remember when the pink curlies last sold out? And maybe we can use the amount of pink on this curlie to tell us which batch it was from: I know the second batch had a stripe of darker pink, while the third batch was all soft pink, but I don’t know about the first batch.
It was more fun when we thought this was an old collection left to sit for a while. But this lady was clearly collecting until very recently. It’s awfully sad to think that a Forum member might have fallen off the map, and this is how we find out. 😥 And even if she wasn’t a member, or was one who didn’t post much, it’s terrible to see even things like a baby photo chucked in a box and sent away! I can see a family not understanding the lady’s interest in Windstones, but good grief, the photo too?
February 12, 2008 at 1:06 am #663965If they knew how special they were, I would have thought they would have ebayed them, if they didn’t want them.
It is so good that you got them. Maybe she is looking out for another Windstone lover, who could use the financial help. You will certainly be able to sell (even the broken ones) and hopefully it will help you with college. Maybe she is taking care of you, because you are gonna take care of her stuff.
Thinking about it that way should help you for feeling sad for her. Hopefully she is in heaven smiling and watching you enjoying her Windstones.
On a lighter note: My husband certainly wouldn’t keep my Windstones if I passed away. He would be selling them on ebay like a mad man….then he would go buy himself another collectible car…hehehe. He already told me he would 🙂
February 12, 2008 at 1:10 am #663966how sad……we need to find out who this person is…
February 12, 2008 at 1:11 am #663967This is just a reminder of fragile life is.
Sad that her family didn’t want any of treasurers.February 12, 2008 at 1:14 am #663968keschete wrote:He would be selling them on ebay like a mad man….then he would go buy himself another collectible car…hehehe. He already told me he would 🙂
😆 My mom and stepdad have that “talk” all the time. “Honey, I love you, but the moment I have free reign I am backing a dumpster up to the door of that train-wreck you call a garage!” My stepdad is a very garage-oriented man 🙄
But really. I agree with you, Keschete. I’m sure this lady is very happy that such loving collecters have found her precious treasures. We’re even going out of the way to try and find out who she was, even though most of us would love to have a few of these pieces for our own!
I love this place… everyone is so caring 🙂
February 12, 2008 at 1:14 am #663969Aetharia, your location says “Wisconsin”. Is this the state the antique shop was in? Maybe if Windstone looks at all the addressed they shipped pink curlies too, it might be a help. I imagine they might not want to post the name, but maybe they could figure out if it was a forum member….
February 12, 2008 at 1:17 am #663970I mentioned this to Melody earlier that these dragons all have numbers carefully written on their felt pads. The old brown emp and the green emp have the numbers one, and two. The other dragons have numbers going into the eighties, which makes me think that she was numbering her dragons as she got them.
This one curlie I’m holding has the number 87 on his base. I don’t have 87 dragons here.. at least I don’t think I do. *looks around* If she was numbering her dragons, I have to find the rest or at least figure out what happened to them.
I’ve got to talk to the clerk again tomorrow first thing.
The PYO’s will definitely be staying with me, unless an artist on the forum can ID them and claim them. If that’s the case, I’ll send them to that artist directly. I don’t think it would be right, any other way.
February 12, 2008 at 1:22 am #663971I don’t even know where she picked the dragons up from, Lokie. I’ll have to ask tomorrow when I call her. I have lots of questions. 🙁
February 12, 2008 at 1:25 am #663972Could she have been numbering all her Windstones as she got them not just the dragons??
February 12, 2008 at 1:26 am #663973Ohh that is sad….hopefully we can figure out who this person was, it seems like she had a very large collection…that she loved very much.

February 12, 2008 at 1:27 am #663974All of the windstones have numbers, not just the dragons. The Ki-Rins are 30-33, and the extra male sitting out is 33 and 1/2.
Does anyone know any collector who numbered her dragons?
February 12, 2008 at 1:30 am #663975That is sad. 🙁 I hope we can figure out who this lady was.

I have heard of our members naming their pieces but now numbering them. I bet she was numbering every Windstone she ever got -
