Well, looks like you found a way to pay for part of college 😆
Oh man! Keschete is only missing a white hatching empress (she has every other hatching royalty except that one)!
This is exciting, especially since people are starting to get their tax returns! 😀
Thank You for bringing that up!!!!
I do need one…so, I know you are drowning in PM’s, but if you are interested in selling….I would love to give her a home 🙂
February 11, 2008 at 11:12 pm #663933Sorry for the slow replies. Liz and I just spent over an hour going through the broken box.
The bad news- we seperated out the remains of what looks to be a gold old warrior, a jade sun, a rainbow mother, and what we think is an emerald lap. We doubt that a single drop could have caused this much damage. These dragons are in absolute pieces. The first thing I saw when I opened the ‘coffin’ was the broken half of the OW’s face looking up at me. *sighs*
The good news- there were a couple survivors. We carefully pulled out all the broken pieces and found two smaller boxes in the bottom of the box. I actually handed the boxes over to Lizzo and left the room because I didn’t want to see any more damage. 🙁 Lizzo had more guts than I did though and more than willingly opened the boxes. She tracked me down in the kitchen a few minutes later and handed me yet another white hatching empress and a white kinglet! They both look totally fine and made it through the damage okay!
We’re going to go through a few more boxes after we eat. I’ll keep you guys posted. There’s still that other extra box I’ve yet to peek into.
February 11, 2008 at 11:17 pm #663934Thank you for the update ….. 😆 I`m sure there is a number of forum memebers who are watching this thread to see what kind of goodies you have found so far… 😆

February 11, 2008 at 11:18 pm #663935Man, so egg-citing. XD Heehee. Maybe I should scope out our local antique shops too. We have quite a few…but they’re pretty cutthroat. >.>; I doubt anyone will ever find a bargain like that again!
Poor grandmother, though. =( I’d be sad if my family had no idea what to do with things that I had treasured, and finally just dumped them on an antique store.

Yeah, I’ve never even seen a Windstone in any antique store around here.
At least grandma’s stuff will end up with the most rabid collectors now. 😆 😉 I feel badly about the broken ones, though.
February 11, 2008 at 11:23 pm #663937Are you gonna sell the broken ow? If so how much do you want for him?
February 11, 2008 at 11:25 pm #663938…. guys.
Whoever this grandmother was, purchased PYO’s. Lizzy opened that extra box and there were two of them in there. They’re absolutely beautiful, but look to be unsigned! There is no felt on the bottom of either one!
I’m not sure what else is in the box, but there looks to be a lot of wrapped windstones in it. I will let you all know if I find anything signed.
Ugh. I feel like crying. And I desperately need to get a camera. 🙁

Just in case you don’t get the PM, please let me know about the White Hatching Empress. I know we are all such pests…we are just all drooling over your find!!!!!
It is so exciting! Great that someone who will love them, found them!
February 11, 2008 at 11:37 pm #663941Holy wow! You are living every collectors fantasy right now!!! I’m SO ENVIOUS!!! LOL! Great find!!
Anything broken you want to send my way let me know!!! I’ll take just about ANY broken dragons you have especially Emperors, Old Warriors, Laps, Scratchers, and Spectrals! I’d even consider the ones bashed into bits =D PM me pics (or just a detailed description) and I’ll give you a price if you want.
Also if you find any Baby Orientals I really want to get a peacock one and a jade one! I’ll PM you too, but I figured you were probably drowning in them!

PYOs too? And unfelted? Maybe she painted them herself. Geez . . . this lady was a serious collector, and we never knew her. 🙁 And it is sad, to think of someone’s beloved collection ending up half-forgotten on a shelf, all jammed into boxes. But you found them! And now they’re going to be fixed up and loved again. Even the broken ones can be fixed, and from the look of things there are plenty of folks willing to tackle the job. Thanks to you, these Windstones will get a happy ending to their ordeal! 🙂
February 11, 2008 at 11:52 pm #663945So I’m trying to enjoy a bowl of soup, type, and balance the myriad of curlies on my lap at the same time. That’s what was in the box with the pyos. Curlies. Lots and lots and lots of curlies.
We’re at twelve so far. Lizzo is unwrapping number thirteen.
I’m starting to feel ready bad though. This collection must have taken years upon years to collect. These were someone else’s babies, and I feel like they were literally just dumped (so to speak). 🙁
February 11, 2008 at 11:54 pm #663946wow…so she must have past very recently….
that is very sad….
