Question, though. The color on the mother is a lot different than the color on my green hatchling. I think my hatchling is pretty old – he doesn’t have a felt pad on him and I can see some brush strokes along the egg…I wonder if they are normally that different? They eye color is different too…or one of them has changed colors over the years.
EDIT: I’ve tried to find the thread about that ebay old green hatchling that’s going on now, because mine looks rather similar in color. Mine has a different blue/purple/gold paint pattern though. Mine has the light blue jewels as well. I had to run down to get the silvers out to check them otherwise it would drive me crazy. All light blue.
Stephanie, my OG mom and hatchling were purchased new in summer ’86. The mom very closely matches yours in color; however, the hatchling is much more washed out in color than yours. Maybe yours is older than that, which would make it one of the earliest ones? (mine have felt pads, but if you look close in places, you can see brushwork).

Thank you for the info! Mine doesn’t have a felt pad or the stamp, and he’s got that little white mark on his chin that the old ebay one seems to have. I just wish I knew more about his history. Why he didn’t get a pad or a stamp…I don’t think anyone painted over it unless they managed to match the under color exactly.
Just an odd little mystery piece! 🙂
