Well, I wish I coulda got it but I still need to pay for the castle and the claw holder I just ordered.
WOW, $200 for (what Melody considers) a sketch! But it is very beautiful though! And a great price for a beautiful Original work of so-called “sketch” 😉
I sure hope whoever won it is out frame shopping to put it someplace nice to be viewed by all….*sigh* griffocamp I lament your passing through my fingers!!!! But in all seriousness congratulations to the winner thats a gorgeous piece!!!
Actually that’s about right, maybe even low for an original. At Cons and Ren Faires work like that goes for between $100-300 depending on the size and popularity of subject matter/artist. I have prints from artists like NeNe Thomas and Ruth Thompson that I bought for $75-100. Some of my NeNe pieces are worth thousands now and these are just prints not the originals. If you matted and framed it then it could be sold for even more.

Sun Dragon Koi #3It’s a beautiful piece. 🙂 The detailing is just fabulous, but I think the thing I like best about it is the wonderful facial expressions. The griffocampus is all dignified disbelief, while the gull has that cheery “An’ then I . . . an’ then . . .” thing going that just cracks me up. These guys have personality! 😀
Great sketch! But for some reason they remind me of chinchillas more than mice. Great facial expressions!
