FINALLY!! I GOT MY CAR!!! Dad convinced me he should *cough cough* nudge nudge, drive it home because its *cough* safer, but even then, following him in his car, I was flailing around all the way home 😀 😀
Here’s my tale.
BUT FIRST
I want to say a huge huge HUGE THANK YOU to every single person who bought something from me-through here or through ebay. Every one of you has helped make my little dream come true. *HUGS*
I wont start at the very very beginning, and Ill do my best to keep this short 😳
So ever since I first laid eyes on the Pontiac Trans Am when I was a kid, I was in love. I wasn’t even into cars then-didnt give them a second look-but THAT one-WOW! Like a favorite song, my love for them never wavered. (Sounds cheesy but its true!)
So I find this red one (I posted a picture of it in my want to sell ad) Its in Humble, Tx, about an hour away (everything is like an hour away from here haha) Its at a little rinky dink auto dealership. The salesman is a total jerk! I walked in and asked about the car and he wouldn’t even let me start it up, open the doors and look inside-nothing. He didn’t ask my name, age, didn’t ask for my insurance for a test drive-nothing. He saw “a cute little girl” and assumed I was just wasting his time and that I wasn’t serious. PLUS he was asking $9,900. My dad talked him down to $8500. Well so I start saving up and selling stuff. Last week Dad finds another one he likes even better-its got all the same features I want, but its cleaner and cheaper. Well I call them and its sold-they didnt take down the posting
I had gotten so insistant upon getting the red one in Humble that it didn’t really occur to me to look around and see what else was out there.
So I posted a wanted ad on Craigslist and I got a GREAT response! Had several people calling me, texting, emailing saying they had one for sale. Well one guy in particular-lets call him Jim (thats not his real name) sticks out. He keeps in contact, he replies to my messages in a timely manner, and his grammer is fairly proper (we were text messaging back and forth) He lives in Friendswood-about 45 mins to an hour away on the SE side of town (Im in NW Houston) He emailed me pictures and *insert drooling icon here* 😈 I was in love. I got an excited feeling that I dont get for just every car I see.
We arranged a meeting today. My dad and I drove out there and met him. He was super nice and down to earth-a country guy. I let my dad do the talking and he convinced him to come off the price from $7500 to $6800! 😀 I didn’t think he’d come down that far. My dad was still dissapointed he couldn’t get it for me cheaper, but I was/am super happy with the price! Its a really gorgeous car, considering its 11 years old and has over 140,000 miles. I felt his original asking price was fair-but hey! Not complaining!! Its got the nicest, cleanest interior Ive seen! It does have some issues-the AC has a leak, the windsheild has a huge crack and there are some minor chips in the paint, but thanks to Dad I have extra money left over to get those things taken care of.
What exactly did I get?
a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 with T-Tops and an LS1 engine *purrs*
and just because, here is my G6. For a sedan, its fast! (well, to me! My friend has an Infinity G37-THATS a fast sedan!)
Oh! Its so wonderful! The registration is expired and I dont have insurance on it yet so I’m not supposed to drive it now that I got it home, but it fits me so nicely. Like the seats were made for my back. Its just perfect and I absolutely love it!! Ive got the title in my posession and I can’t believe that I ACTUALLY OWN not just A CAR but the car of my dreams! Ive had 2 other cars-a Chevy Cavalier Z24 that got totaled and a Pontiac G6 V6 that I was driving until today. I will keep driving the G6 until I get all the paperwork finished on the Trans Am, then my mom is going to take the G6. I told her she can borrow my Trans Am if I need to go on a long trip (because I KNOW it will be a gas guzzler…and I really dont care :D) I think she was real upset by that 😉Update 3-7-11: Went to the court house down town today (man, downtown Houston makes my head spin!) and got the title transferred over and paid the TT&L on it. The line at this Tax Office went quickly, but the taxes and fees sucked up all the money I had left. oouuuuuuch. Oh well-worth it 8)

Welcome to the club.
Sounds like a great purchase. I have a 2000 Firehawk which I got back in 2002 and I still love it. Time to start modding. Lid is a first popular mod on those if it isn’t already done.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOAH!!! Now THAT’s A NICE CAR! Congrats!!!! I used to have a Mitsubishi 3000 GT that was my pride and joy until my ex busted the transmission 🙄 Costed more to fix then what I paid for the car. I traded it the next day 😆 Now I love the big trucks!!! My next car is going to be an Avalance or an Escalade if I am REALLY fortunate. Not saying I wouldn’t LOVE a trans am! Wooo!!! Beautiful!!!
