How many animals are you allowed on base there in Germany? Here at Fort Stewart you are only allowed 2, and your dog can’t be one of about 10 breeds known for agression. No exotics are allowed either and if I remember right a rabbit falls under that.
October 12, 2007 at 5:47 pm #625709Oh, he sounds so cute. And yes, lots of pics please!! I’m only allowed two animals until we move into a bigger place. Of course, we’ll be moving in the next year or so…so Yay, I get another kitty, or maybe a small dog.
And thank you for saving him from the shelter.
October 12, 2007 at 5:55 pm #625710Have you thought of a name for him yet? Maybe Sher Khan… 😈
October 12, 2007 at 6:14 pm #625711Pegasi, we are only allowed two also but no one is going to enforce it. A bunny does not count as an exotic pet, either though even if, I have not heard anything about not being allowed to have anything exotic. I think your base may have to comply with the county its in for dog breeds, cuz breed banning is not done by the Army.
Star, luckily, my place is ridiculously large. I only wonder what it will be like when I move. That could suck.As for pics, I am loading them right now. I will post them on the first page when they load. Takes forever!
October 12, 2007 at 6:16 pm #625712kitty pics!!! Yay!!!! 😀
October 12, 2007 at 6:28 pm #625713Ok, here are the pics. And nope, he is not named yet. I cant call him Jerk forever.
October 12, 2007 at 6:31 pm #625714He’s very handsome! 😀
October 12, 2007 at 6:37 pm #625715Oh hes beautiful! It will take a little time and he should adjust. Its different for all cats on how long it takes. Just give him a little time to get used to the new home 🙂
Congrats on a sweetheart 🙂October 12, 2007 at 6:40 pm #625716What a cutie! You could always call him diablo 😆
I had a cat named “turd” he looked just like yours and was a naughty kitty, I was always yelling, you little turd! It stuck 😛October 12, 2007 at 6:46 pm #625717awwwww….what a handsome kitty!! What does Justin want to name him? You could always pick a character out of Halo. Our new betta is named Spartan!!! 😆
October 12, 2007 at 6:46 pm #625718Oh, he’s so cute!!

Our housing is privatized and after a child was recently hurt by one of the breeds on the banned list they decided to add they needed to go ahead and add Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Air Field to the list of bases that ban certain breeds. It went in to effect August 1, but if you already had one of the breeds it would be grandfathered in as long as you register the dog with the housing. Anyone new to the area after that, or getting a new animal, is not allowed the banned breeds.
Housing around here hasn’t been consistent with enforcement of the pet policy, but my neighbors who had four dogs recently got in trouble for it and had to get rid of two of them.
I’m not sure why my Housing considers rabbits exotic pets, but they are – along with ferrets and lizards so those aren’t allowed here either.
October 12, 2007 at 6:50 pm #625720He’s a pretty kitty and reminds me of the gray tabby flap cats Windstone did!

I am sure it will be eventually. I think housing would enforce it if the neighbors complained about poop or noise or something, but noone is gonna complain about a rabbit 😆
Thanks all! Justin wanted to call him “Hunter” which is not too bad, but I think he has changed his mind. Maybe we should wait till we see what he is really like before we name him. I dont want a name that is too common or one that doesnt fit.
I put him in the litter box. I think he will stay there a few days. The poor thing. I do think it is unusual, though, how antisocial he is. His brother was the exact opposite. 😕
October 12, 2007 at 7:12 pm #625722Hunter, eh??? I knew he’d pick a Halo name!!! 😆 I kinda like the hunters. 😉
