April 10, 2007 at 6:46 pm #560517So Pretty! Grats Drag0n!
April 10, 2007 at 7:17 pm #560518Dang, seeing those close ups makes me want to get one!
And I was already determined to resist…must resist… 😆
April 10, 2007 at 7:43 pm #560519It really should be a “her” since 99% of all calicos are female.
She’s a beauty, drag0n! I got mine today too, but won’t be able to take photos until tonight after school. We’ll compare! 😀
April 10, 2007 at 7:44 pm #560520She looks like she’s a real flesh and blood kitty in the first pic. Congrats again, drag0n.
April 10, 2007 at 11:50 pm #560521Here’s mine!
Three kitties in a row. The black one is a little hard to see behind the hatching royals.

All calicos are female…no such thing as a male calico, unless he is an XXY in the chromosome dept…

April 11, 2007 at 1:23 am #560523I thought all Calico’s where female I know my baby is
April 11, 2007 at 1:41 am #560524Actually Calico’s are something like 75-90% female, but Tortishell’s are 100% unless Mutants, also as long as it has 1 single white hair anywhere on it’s body it’s technically a Calico, even if that poor little hair feels so lonely it falls out almost as soon as it has grown in. Sometimes it’s really hard to tell. 😛 I have spent entirely too many years of my realatively short life learning anything/everything about animals and their genetics, particularly Mammals. 😳
April 11, 2007 at 1:51 am #560525OK very nice to know I was also under the impression that all Calico’s where female
April 11, 2007 at 2:27 am #560526Like Kyrin said you can get the occasional XXY male so you do get a rare male calico. I once saw a beautiful male calico Cornish Rex cat at a cat show. He was absolutely gorgeous and definitely male – he was *ahem* very developed! Such males should be sterile but his breeder swore he sired a litter of kittens but I’m not sure I believed her – she had other males and one of them could have done the deed!
