For the Final Fantasy series, I think FFVI was a remake of FFIII or FFII, I think it’s III but I could be mistaken. So it might not be worth it 😀
Right now the fiancee is obsessed with his copy of FF tactics. I haven’t tried it because he won’t let me near it… 😆
Look up Kya: Dark Lineage
It’s got a 3D platform like Jak & Daxter, and a pretty good storyline.
Basically Kya and her brother end up going through a portal into another world. In that world they are separated, she is taken in by the gentle Nativs, and he is dragged to the evil overlord’s domain by Wolfen (read werewolves).
Kya, discovers that the evil overlord is her father, so that’s where he went all those years ago, and that he has become evil and corrupt and has her stepbrother. Great. Kya learns to fight, and starts her quest to get her brother back, square things with Dad, and get back home.
It’s a fun and sometimes frustrating game. There was only one puzzle I gave up on, the scenery is breathtaking, and the challenges were fun, when I wasn’t cussing the gamedesigners as sadistic and mean! 🙂
If your sweetie is easily frustrated though, i don’t recommend getting this game for him, but if he doesn’t mind doing something over a dozen times and is pretty good at problem solving, he might enjoy it.
