I don’t understand why some sellers don’t wait until after the buyer posts in case there’s a problem.
Once the buyer has paid, what more does a seller need to wait for? The only reason not to post feedback, after a buyer has done thier part, is for leverage. It leaves room for retaliation if the buyer leaves a Neg for some reason.

True, and that’s what I was thinking. I’ve seen several instances where the buyer was a righteous little snit, when it wasn’t called for, and the seller had already praised how nice they were or some such nonsense. I think if I were a seller, I’d wait. *shrug* To each their own though.June 4, 2007 at 6:37 pm #584550Oh man, it’s hard to hold back a tear with this guy!
June 4, 2007 at 7:03 pm #584551I hope he’s at least cooperative, even if he was a fool in packing. Let us know how it goes, Maebnus.

Yep I’m one of those sellers who leaves feedback as soon as I have my money “in hand”. I get frustrated at the sellers who wait to leave feedback until after I leave theirs. If it was needed I could always go in and leave a comment on the feedback explaining the situation.

Yeah I hate when sellers do that.
June 4, 2007 at 8:40 pm #584554Sorry. I’m one of those people who wait until I get feedback before leaving any as a seller. I’ve never had it happen to me, but I’ve seen people give negative feedback without even trying to work out the problem with the seller first. It’s just my way of protecting myself against that. I’d rather someone told me there was a problem and let me have a chance to make it right before they leave me any feedback. If they see that I can still retaliate, they are more likely to contact me first.
Although there was one time when I received neutral feedback after I worked everything out with the buyer (and just couldn’t make her happy), and I still left her positive feedback because she did everything right. *shrugs* I try not to be retaliatory in any case.
June 4, 2007 at 8:43 pm #584555I, selling stuff and buying stuff can see both sides of the fence. Everyone has to protect themselves and we all no there are ppl who like to retaliate. I would rather be safe than sorry tho.
June 4, 2007 at 8:58 pm #584556Oh no! 😥 😥 😥 Poor guy didn’t deserve his fate 🙁 I hope the seller gives you all or 95% of your money back, and lets you keep the pieces. I would LOVE to see him go to Nam for repairs and possibly a new life. Please keep us updated

June 4, 2007 at 9:41 pm #584559Ah, that is hard to look at. Sorry, Maebnus3. I hope you get a full refund. One less mint green emporer in the world 😥

Dear Maebnus3,I used to work in Quality/Document Control for a service oriented company in Silicon Valley. I negotiated many customer service disputes.
I would–
Open a Dispute with ebay IMMEDIATELY! Do not write to the seller directly, communicate only through the ebay dispute process. Cut and paste all of the previous messages between you and seller in the dispute description.
State ALL facts as short and to the point as possible. Even though you really really want to say something reflecting on the seller’s lack of intelligence or common sense, do not! If they resort to personal jabs, it will only reflect on them poorly, let it go, stay to the facts.
This is a high ticket item, clearly not packaged appropriately and just as clearly, entirely the seller’s fault. State that you shall only accept a full refund, including shipping. Decline to send the item back to them unless they are willing to pay ALL shipping charges. The item is no longer worth the cost of shipping it anywhere. (Later if you want it repaired, that’s not their concern).
Good Luck! Feel free to PM me, I hope this helps!June 4, 2007 at 9:50 pm #584561Maebnus3 wrote:I think I’m gonna be sick. I wanted this guy so bad. He was MINT!! I even contacted the seller before bidding and asked about his shipping- I even TOLD him he’s prone to breaking during shipping! I didn’t mention double-boxing, but I told him LOTS of bubblewrap, peanuts, AND a box bigger than just barely enough to fit him! I said that!! He said “Our Shipping will be extraordinarily careful and complete” HOW DOES A HANDFUL OF NEWSPAPER AND PLASTIC BAGS, AND 1 QUICK WRAP OF BUBBLEWRAP IN A BOX BARELY BIG ENOUGH QUALIFY?!?
I don’t know how to even begin to write to him….. it’s just not fair…..
I wouldn’t say a word, just send them the picture. That will say everything you need to say.
I hope it was insured.
Also, if you would like to send the bits to me I can attempt to repair him. I just need you to send return shipping funds.
I’m so sorry this happened to you.
Kyrin
June 4, 2007 at 9:59 pm #584562Oh no 😥
I’m so sorry this happened, both to you and that poor dragon. I can’t imagine what it was like to look forward to seeing him, and then have to see him like that. Good luck with the entire situation
