Now Claire Marie is losing weight… I don’t know what to do! I suspect she is depressed from missing Katie, so I hope it will get better, and she will start to eat more again. I’m trying to show her lots of attention, and she is responding well to it. I checked her teeth, and they seem fine.

I’m just hoping that the girls didn’t get into anything when we were working on the dining room. I would just feel horrible if we didn’t clean well enough, and they ate something that ruins their kidneys.

Losing Katie was devastating. I’m still crying about it. Losing Claire too, would just about do me in.

Animals get drpressed just like we do. 🙁 I have seen it in other peoples pets a lot when I was working for Merry Maids, Its just as sad as the poeple themselves being depressed. 🙁 Just keep an eye on her and give her lovins! *Its weird “giving” advise that I know that people are already doing! ;)* Hopefully in a week or so she’ll start to be more herself.

          *BIG HUG*

Have her checked out at your vet… this is one situation where you don’t want to wait too long… We were lucky that we got Pixel in as as quickly as we did when she got into the neighbor’s weed killer. At least a check at the vet will ease your mind and they may be able to offer nutritional support until Claire Marie is feeling better. **HUGS** we don’t want to lose another furry baby, ‘specially yours!

Yep, animals get depressed just like people. I know our dogs would act odd after one of the other ones passed away.

She should hopefully be better after a few days. If not, and you’re worried about her… then maybe take her to the vet just to check her out like TDM suggested. Or you could always get a new friend for her, when you’re ready. *big hugs*

Aww, poor Claire. I know my kitty Nik lost an awful lot of weight when his buddy Dusty disappeared. He was depressed and didn’t act like the same cat for almost a month. I hope both you and Claire feel better. *hugs*

I agree, cats do get depressed when one of their friends passes away… apparently Sugar wandered around the house for hours calling Spice.

If it doesn’t get better in a few days (maybe try feeding her some favorite treats to get her interested in eating again?) then yeah, go to the vet.

I know someone said maybe get another friend for her, but be careful with that. When my parents got Mothball (as a friend for Sugar after Spice died), Sugar forgot all about Spice. She started beating up Mothball…. 🙄 And kitty conflicts are generally bad.

I’m not going to get another friend for Claire and Merlin until Claire is better. I can’t deal with her weight loss/possible illness and introducing a new kitten at the same time. Also, I’m not ready yet for a new love, and neither is the hubby.

We both miss Katie badly and feel that to “replace” her right away would not alleviate the feeling of loss we have. We may even wind up blaming the new kitty for her absence, especially if the introduction of the new kitty does not go well.

I’m going to give it another few days with Claire before I take her to the vet to have her checked out. I’m just going to love her up and feed her treats until she gets fat again. 🙂

Cloey went thru that went we lost Tabitha last christmas, she lost soo much weight and just moped around the house, the vet said it was normal, that she was just missing Tabitha. Keep an eye on her, give her some special treats, and if she doesn’t seem to improve i would say take her to the vet….I agree with everyone else here, Fuzzy cuddles for Claire Marie!!
