January 5, 2008 at 1:53 pm #651754I am glad to hear your father is okay. It’s always really scary when something like that happens…
My father’s been spending the last weeks in different hospitals as well. First in France, then back here in Finland.
I was afraid he might be dead since he travels a lot because of his job as a truck driver and then, one day, we got informed about him being missing. We had talked with him two days before this call so of course we didn’t have the foggiest idea that something might have happened to him. I was afraid he’d been robbed and killed or something, since that’s a very real danger for truck drivers. The thieves break their way into the trucks with knives and such. I was also afraid that he’d got some kind of an attack and would be found dead from some parking lot. It was a horribly long wait to hear if he’s been found, dead or alive… Luckily they did find him from a French hospital, and he was rather fine. He had suffered of an apoplexy (I hope that is the right word o__o;; ) so his left side is currently immobile.
Heh, but you know, that was the first time in my life I was glad to hear someone dear to me is in a hospital. And the first time I was glad that I was wrong when I said to my mother and sisters that I believe he’s dead.January 5, 2008 at 3:25 pm #651755Yikes! That’s scary! Glad he was found and is doing okay!

Yeah, exactly… The only thing that still kind of ticks me off about this is how the police reacted when we reported my father missing. 😡 They just told us that he has probably forgotten himself drinking somewhere “because he’s a truck driver and that’s what truck drivers do”.
