I don’t understand why the police aren’t coming to check everything out. The dog should be taken away… and frankly the family should be evaluated.

About the kids, I’d put up a “no trespassing” sign. Of course, they wouldn’t give two craps… so try and put a video camera up to catch them jumping your fence and show it to police. It is YOUR property and they are on it without your permission. Added with the suspicion of theft… and I really think the police should do something.

Do you have a local humane society that’ll put up a fuss? If so, they might make enough noise to prod the police into action. That’s ridiculous. It’s animal abuse/neglect. The kids are also neglected (possibly abused) if they are that young and allowed to wander the neighborhood unchecked. Some people should be spayed and neutered.

But yeah, if the police don’t do anything, maybe report it to the humane society (they can seize animals if they see obvious proof of neglect/abuse). Also report the kids for trespassing on your property to the police and mention that they are frequently unsupervised. That should get some kind of reaction, at least.

Heck, show it to a news channel. That is something that would get a lot of people’s attention. Who knows if they would take on the story..but every year our news channel talks about how to keep your pets safe in the summer..you can point out these photos and/or video of how not to treat a dog.
