So I just got an e-mail from e-bay saying the listing I bid on ‘red fire old warrior’ was cancelled by e-bay and the sale is null and void. Did it get hacked or something?
Just got another e-mail that the sun dragon is null and void 🙁 How are you supposed to ever auction anything if this crap keeps happening?!
March 16, 2008 at 10:07 pm #494717March 16, 2008 at 10:08 pm #679784I got the same message. I bet it was hacked, I think the price went for over $500. I thought that was strange compaired to the other OW auctions.
March 16, 2008 at 10:12 pm #679785Oh criminy, not again. Hang tight and check with Windstone tomorrow. If the auction was hacked, Windstone has been really good about getting items to the real high bidder. It’s possible that the e-mail is some kind of phishing scam, but unfortunately there’s been a lot of auction hacking lately. Pests. 😡
March 16, 2008 at 10:14 pm #679786Ugh… I try and watch the auctions ending on weekends for Windstone but I forgot to catch the end of that one. It was hacked. 🙁

I’m sure Windstone will sort it out, though. Still, it’s annoying because it’s more work for them.
March 16, 2008 at 10:26 pm #679788Is it just one person that’s hacking all these auctions? O__O Sheesh.
March 16, 2008 at 10:30 pm #679789😯 I’m glad and surprize that they did not touch the NOVEMBER FOREST KEEPER. Or is there a chance they did but I still won?
Then again it probable would have gone much higher.March 16, 2008 at 10:51 pm #679790Blackdesertwind wrote:😯 I’m glad and surprize that they did not touch the NOVEMBER FOREST KEEPER. Or is there a chance they did but I still won?

Glad to hear that. I would be so mad if they would have messed it up. 👿March 17, 2008 at 1:09 am #679792How can they tell when one is hacked? And what is the purpose of hacking? I don’t understand- do they have the person’s e-bay and paypal info and plan on buying it using the hacked person’s bank account or..?

I’m pretty sure they’re just doing it because they can. o_o; Not because they actually want that stuff.
March 17, 2008 at 1:46 am #679794Why would they do that? I don’t get it. I can think of a million ‘bad’ things that you’d get a lot more thrill out of than hacking an auction if you felt like being naughty. I don’t understand lol

It’s an eBay wide problem… I suspect that hundreds, if not thousands of auctions are hit daily. Some people are malicious, some… well, who the heck knows exactly why. eBay isn’t really talking about it right now- if the fact that they can’t do anything currently to stop it got ‘out’ they could stand to lose more customers yet. It’s very sad. It is not just Windstone auctions… not by a long run. They seem to hit any auction, randomly, if it goes above $500 or so.

My art: featherdust.comMarch 17, 2008 at 4:14 am #679796This is the first I’ve heard of this hacking issue, how exactly are auctions getting hacked? I would think Windstone peeps are pretty savvy about phishing emails and such, so is there another way that “hackers” are gaining control of these auctions? 😯
