In answer to your question Ferlin, at this time our site doesn’t seem sturdy enough to handle a whole lot of people refreshing all at once when the appointed time of release comes around, so we will most likely announce an item after we have added it to the store. I know its nice to receive an announcement and know when you need to be by a computer, but having it crash is not fun for anyone.
Again, I remind everyone, please do not run any kind of auto-refreshing script on our site to find out when we’ve added a new item. Thank you!
What happened to the site to make it so frail?

I’m wondering that too, it was only three new items that day wasn’t it? and it wasn’t GBs, I’m scared to see how the site will do when a GB batch is released….
4 things I'm looking for:
1. Mother Meerkat
2. production color Sitting Young Oriental dragons to be made in more colors besides VF, Brimstone would be awesome!
3. Female Griffin – Siamese with White
4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinMarch 24, 2015 at 12:48 am #927027I know I was refreshing a lot hoping I wouldn’t miss the buckskin unicorn release. I had no idea the consequences that it would cause :~ especially when a lot of people were probably doing it. I would definitely want the website running smoothly versus getting an announcement and it crashing.

It SHOULD be able to handle people refreshing often like you did. Until the recent work, the site survived announced Grab Bags and other popular items without problems (except when Susie was actually trying to put things in the store). I wonder whether Windstone has changed hosts for the website?
March 24, 2015 at 7:36 pm #927047Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble with everything taking forever to load? The whole site is slower than slow and I keep getting kicked out or I get accessed denied screens… Help please! I’m having Windstone Family withdrawals and it ain’t pretty

Mine has been a back and forth battle.. sometimes it breezes, other times, it reminds of me of the days I had *really bad* dial up…
I also tried to post to this earlier, and I got an error that wasn’t going to let me post… that I was going to screen cap and (try to) post, but my entire system locked up and I had to hard reset my pc…
I’m beginning to think I should just stay off this site until it gets figured out and is solid again = Just *try* to check my messages so I don’t unintentionally ignore anyone who is trying to keep tabs with me/work deals with me…March 24, 2015 at 8:57 pm #927050Today Lane thought he fixed the thing that was causing the accidental “access denied” messages – is that still happening? And what were you doing when it happened – please email me details if it happens to you. susie@windstoneeditions.com
We have the same host, but they moved our site to a different server plus upgraded some things and since then things have been wonky. I don’t know if everything has been adjusted yet – but as its still running slow – I think not. I will pass your remarks along to the proper persons.
Please bear with us while we get the site sorted out and running well!
March 24, 2015 at 11:02 pm #927054Interesting – for me the site has been running smoothly and back up to speed for several days (knock wood). I’m on a desktop and wired into the system (not wireless modem) – don’t know whether any of that would make a difference.
March 25, 2015 at 12:52 am #927057Just to give a little more input, I am on wireless and have had no problems in days. No “access denied” and no unusually slow loads.
March 25, 2015 at 3:25 am #927065Adding a bit more data – my browser is Firefox.
March 25, 2015 at 12:50 pm #927068I haven’t had any problems running the site however this morning I tried to post an ad and it wouldn’t let me add pictures. It might be something I’m doing but the its never happened before.
