I was wondering if any of you had any good ideas on how to go about a trade with someone who is new on the forum. Sales via PP are pretty easy because you have the money, but trades can be a little sticky. Any ideas?

Like me! I was very happy with how well you packaged the dragon I bought. It does take a leap of faith on the other person’s side but like I said – you have a history of satisfied people and if the other person is new he/she can always check with other forum members. Just my 2 cents.

Not to mention when your sending things over the Canadian/US border and they are taking a while its nice to check with a click of button where in North America your package is :).

I did think about this, but the only problem is that tracking just proves you sent a package, not what is in it. I would be worried that the package only contained a candy bar or something. π
I will ask if the person would take a leap of faith. They are really new here, so I dont know if they would trust me.

Sun Dragon Koi #3April 1, 2009 at 11:47 pm #758652customs!!!! π
Its usually pretty random whether they check your package or not. It seemed though for a period of about 3-4 months they checked everything shipped to me and also charged me an extra $20-$30 for the inconvenience and wait.
Luckily most of the time tracking numbers will say its sitting in customs so you can see what the delay is :), at least when I have been checking the status of my goods!!.
One time tracking though, it went to Quebec (Canada) from America then back down to the states and back to Quebec and I think they actually charged me double customs becase it was almost a $60.00 custom fee…grrrrrr thats enough to buy a whole small windstone!!!!.
Stupid question? Do Americans also get charged a customs fee when we ship things over the border?
wow can I go off topic or what?.
April 2, 2009 at 3:05 am #758653Nope, we dont get charged customs to send or receive stuff. I think its cuz the PO robs us on stamps. π

Not necessarily. I had to pay customs for the Female Sunburst Griffin I bought from a Canadian forum member.

Really? How come? I have never had to pay customs from anywhere, and I have received stuff from Switzerland, Canada, Germany, everywhere in the us, Iraq… Were there special circumstances or something, like COD stuff?April 2, 2009 at 10:40 pm #758658skigod377 wrote:Tyrrlin wrote:skigod377 wrote:Nope, we dont get charged customs to send or receive stuff. I was so happy to get the griffin that I just whipped out my checkbook (it had to be a check for some reason) and told myself it was worth it.
