Hi. I don’t come here very often ‘cuz it’s heartbreaking being unable to afford to buy. But it seems like whenever I check, all the PYOs are out of stock. Can anyone give me hints on how/when to find one? I actually might be able to justify buying a dragon right now 🙂

Hi turtle_fries and welcome! I guess the easy answer is, whenever there is a batch of pyos to stock! Windstone moved last year and since then, have been dealing with casting issues, like little tiny airholes that show up in the gypsum, especially when painted, so they aren’t getting nearly as many good castings as should be coming out all at once. They are making strides on resolving this issue and are working with a chemist. This most affects smooth sculpts, like dragons. So, only small batches have been showing up in the Windstone online store as they become available. They show up at random though and seemingly fly out of here about as fast as they appear (partly because so many are waiting for them and desperate for blank pyos to paint!)! Once casting is totally settled again and this dreaded ‘dragon pox’ has been cast out, they will probably be more of a regular item in the store and there won’t be a mad rush on them every time they appear. 🙂 I know we are all eagerly awaiting this. *offers a chair and some snacks for the wait*

January 26, 2010 at 12:01 am #803868To add to Siberahk’s comment, before the move, the PYOs were usually stocked pretty consistantly – the only exception being the keeper, but that because the actual mold was torn.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I host the feedback lists, which are maintained by drag0nfeathers.

January 28, 2010 at 3:54 am #803870Oh, I see. 😮 I was just assuming there were some available in between my visits. Sure hope they get the casting problems worked out soon! :bye:
January 29, 2010 at 3:41 pm #803871Sometimes people have an extra that they aren’t going to be able to paint, or decided they don’t want to paint that sculpt and they sell them. So always check in the flea market for members selling blanks. 😉 That is how I manage to snag them once in a while. 😀
