The Word document I use to keep track of my pieces has a lot of the same information on it, but because it’s Word it doesn’t tally totals for me. (Maybe I like that feature, come to think of it. ;)) I’ve been meaning to practice my Excel spreadsheets, though; I should start one for the Windstones.

You can import data from Word into Excel. As long as the information is uniform and delimited by something like a comma or semicolon. If all the lines are formatted the same way, then separate what would be as columns by the comma or semicolon (I recommend semicolon, since many people use commas in comments), and save a copy as a delimited text document (keep the original just in case). Take that delimited text document and import that new one into excel. Seems like an extra step, but you tend to get the best results that way. This will save you a LOT of retyping 😉

I have 70 right now. I also have 3 more on the way. A White Scratcher that I bought from Leigha (being repaired by Kyrin), a White Emp that I am buying from Leigha, and a Peacock Lap that is on her way.
Last year in February I only had 15 and that was after 10 years! My husband says I have to hit or go past the 100 mark this year! 😀

Wow, a husband that wants you to collect more?

I bet many of your wives here on the forums are feeling your standard jealousy smack with that one.

        Quick count reveals 38.

I think the only main thing I don’t keep track of is average selling cost on ebay. I’m comfortable with spreadsheets, but tracking ebay makes my head hurt.

Good thing there’s the online database then. It’s now only behind by the month of March. I’ll be very happy when I get it caught back up.

😆 A guilt column? That’s great! I think I have about 30 pieces that were completely pre-Forum for me. But some of the others don’t really count… I would’ve bought ’em anyway once I saw them in the store. But I’m guessing I can blame my activity here for around 40 LP/LE pieces, 2 Retired, and 8 of my 19 PYOs (all pieces that either weren’t on ebay or that I never would’ve pursued w/o seeing so many pics from others). 😆

Very true! I’m glad that database exists, so I don’t have to think about it! Though I don’t plan on selling, I still think it’s a great resource. Thanks for all your effort to getting it caught up!

Over 100. I don’t have an exact count. I’m working on putting a book together of all my collectibles (for insurance purposes – and in case anything happens to me, for the hubby). I’ll know once that gets finished.

I’ve been thinking about that too- I mean I’m young and don’t expect anything to happen but I have hundreds of breyer horses and if my parents were to sell them if something happened to me they’d really have no clue as to worth or anything

If I list them I can do it…

Ruby male, mother, scratcher, lap, sun oriental

Peacock OW, mother, young, hatching empress, sitting spectral, coiled male, coiled mother

              Emerald male, oriental, hatching emp

              Brown male and mother

              Silver mother

2 PYO dragons and making payments on one

              2 PYO unicorns

              1 PYO wolf

              1 PYO griffin

              Empea mother

Black Gold scratcher and lap….. I *think* that covers everyone which would make 28 including the one I’m doing payments on. Doesn’t seem like that many looking at them! I also have 3 hatching rainbows on the way. If you want to talk about this forum being a death threat to a credit card- before joining (I don’t know how long a couple months or less) I just had the rubies minus the sun and lap and the peacocks minus the OW, scratcher, spectral, coils and 2 PYO’s… 😯

Oh I forgot my curlies! How could I?! 😆 I have a violet flame, emerald, and black gold curlie and a silver on the way 🙂

Would you tell me who did this? I can give a date of a purchase if it’s needed.

Updating the database? Right now I’m the one who inputs the data from current ebay auctions. The only information I don’t really have is the price on some of the hacked windstone auctions.
