December 17, 2007 at 6:20 pm #647705See only people who dont have the crap for 7 months a year can say they like or love snow, I personally hate the stuff. The salt and sand they have to perad to counter act it is messy and dirty and sloppy and wrecks your vehicle. The snow and subsiquent ice are major PITA to drive in, and unless you have a 4wheel drive vehicle you are pretty much hooped. Add to that where I live we are also cold, damn cold, we have to plug our vehicles in so they start in the morning. So far this year is much better than last though it is warmer and has less snow, because Blackdesertwind got it all, LOL.
And yep those are paved roads.
this one:
and this one:
Are not paved roads, hell in the summer they are not roads at all, they are a LAKE, yep with the cold we get wonderful things they call “winter roads” Basically they drive a plow along from point a to point b so that they dont have to fly in and out all winter.
Even the signs get put up after the road is ready:
December 17, 2007 at 7:29 pm #647706I love snow for the first week. Then I want to move to Miami.
And I get so pissed off, not to mention scared to death of people that don’t know how to drive in snow. Do not gun your engine when the light turns green, that will just dig you into a nice hole. We saw at least 3 people stuck and just revving their engines…that isn’t going to work…

EXACTLY what I was talking about but in Denver last January we where fish tailingDecember 17, 2007 at 7:32 pm #647708*snort* We don’t even get snow very often and I know better than that! Pah! they deserve to get stuck! Preferably in their driveway so they’re not blocking traffic! 😀
December 17, 2007 at 8:15 pm #647709Ah yes good old alberta winter. Cold as in -40C plus the north wind howling over the prairie. in calgary weève had windchills push the temps down to -50C at night. though the days werent much better.
What get me are the people who leave the house with out hat, mitts, scarves, winter boots and a winter jacket and then complian that they are cold or when they get frost bite! 🙄
December 17, 2007 at 8:55 pm #647710We have a bit of leftover snow on the sides of the road and in the fields, but we’re supposed to be getting more Wed.

Is Iceland nothing but ice as the name would indicate??nope, ironically Greenland is a glacier with a little shore to live on and Iceland is like 98% plain lava and moss with 2% glaciers, and approximately 3 days of proper snow a year, nifty stuff yeah??
