Going through the collection threads to look at alllll the pretties, got me wondering…
(I believe it was asked “informally” in a previous thread, but I thought I’d ask “formally” now.)
How do you do your Windstone?
Do you collect by critter?
By color?
By sex?
By type?
By whatever calls out to you?
A combination of the above?
Or some other way?Myself, for example, I collect by both critter (dragons) and color (partial to the Black-Gold)… But those silver royal hatchlings called me! LOL…
Thank you in advance for sharing! π
June 8, 2008 at 4:49 am #495736June 8, 2008 at 4:56 am #711975π Mostly I collect by colors that I like but I strive to get the whole line in that specific color… π
I also like to have the whole family`s in a set when it comes to the Griffins, Ki Rin`s and Unicorns.
But there are a also several sculpts that I love, so I strive to get those in each color…like the Poads, Curlies, Griffin chicks, Emperor Dragons and Fledies… πMarzena
June 8, 2008 at 5:01 am #711976I collect by critter (dragon) and color (old green where possible, otherwise as close to it as I can get such as emerald). π

LOL… did you leave anything out? ππ HMMMMM….Actually now that I think of it yeah I did… π I also love the PYO Ki Rins, so eventually I want to have at least one painted by each forum member… π But I know that will probably take me a very long time…. π

June 8, 2008 at 7:57 am #711979I started trying to collect all the white dragons! π I still am, if I can find them at decent prices, but now I mostly collect by what I see that calls out to me. I wish I could collect all of the colors in the lap dragon sculpt, she’s my favorite. I do collect all the fledgies in all the colors though. They’re somewhat affordable and I can see all the colors!
June 8, 2008 at 11:22 am #711980I collect pretty randomly…whatever really appeals to me at any given time… π π π
June 8, 2008 at 12:09 pm #711981I’m pretty new at collecting, but I have to say dragons are my main focus. They usualy tell me what ones I need to buy . Then cats are my other focus, but I only have one so far in that catagory…Circle of Cats.
June 8, 2008 at 12:13 pm #711982I opted for “I collect by a combination of the above”.
When it comes to dragons I like only a few sculpts (Secret Keeper, Old Warrior, Lap and Fledgling) but I will only buy them if I also like the colour they’re produced in. And I’m hugely picky with colours! π
My only other Windstones are a Flap Cat and Unicorns and it depends entirely on colour and sculpt as to if I like it or not.

June 8, 2008 at 1:34 pm #711985I mostly collect by critter: griffins and flapcats for sure. Then I collect by sculpt: curlies and coileds. I also collect by color in sets: original family in rainbow, hatching royalty in peacock, bigger pieces in gold or emerald (or Jade if I can get it). Once in a while I just decide I need something I see. I’ve gotten better about that lately though. I have too many bills.
June 8, 2008 at 2:13 pm #711986I collect what I likes, but more importantly what I can afford. Which is nothing right now but that’s okay! I get to see you guys collect which is like a sport in of itself! π

My art: featherdust.comJune 8, 2008 at 3:01 pm #711987I voted by critter, I collect mostly dragons. Which dragons depends on the color and the sculpt. The only ‘set’ I collect is trying to acquire the young dragon sculpt in all the colors. So far I have all the retired colors. Since I haven’t seen the young dragon done in special colors and put on Ebay like the bigger sculpts, at least I don’t have to worry about missing any. I’d never be able to afford any Ebay auctions unless I win the lottery. π
