I think part of the problem may be when you are communicating through the internet there is NO body language to rely on. Until I joined this forum I hadn’t realized how much I rely on body language to tell if a person is joking, serious, annoyed etc. The emoticons help but there is nothing that replaces being able to see a person’s expression or hearing their tone of voice while talking. There have been comments made that I took to be joking but other people took seriously (and vice versa). So I read everything trying to keep an open mind.

That said, if I have offended anyone I apologize. I try hard not to hurt people’s feelings but sometimes I seem to manage it without even trying. 😳

That is very true. That is a good point to bring up.

I’m with everyone else who has posted as well: If I say or do something that you don’t like, PM or something. I much rather clear the air than be stepping on toes and not know it.

On the flip-side, I know some people (myself included) would be hesitant to PM someone for a slight because I would be worried that I’d be seen as being too touchy or something like that. But like it was pointed out earlier in the thread, little annoyances build and can turn into big things when not cleared up when they are small.

The real origin of Poads is revealed! They’re obviously people who offended the Windstone staff (probably all those makers of fake copy Windstones!) and got turned into Poads!

πŸ˜† Now that made me smile.

Apologies around to all if I have ever offended. I never meant too. πŸ™‚

While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

I think politely PM’ing people is an excellent idea, as I’ve said before ^_^

Now me, my strategy is thus: I do the best I can do consider my audience and my words when writing a post, I try to give myself a timeout if I’m writing something with any sort of negative reaction to the words of another and then I post. If people make allusions to being bothered by others, I feel satisfied that I did my best to not be annoying, etc and my feeling is that if I did something REALLY out of line, people will either address me directly or PM me. If they do neither, it must not be that bad if they don’t feel motivated to do something more active. That may sound weird and possibly arrogant to think but it seriously prevents me from worrying excessively about the mere possibility that I secretly offended someone.

Gosh- it’s times like these when I am just SO thankful that I am perfect and never offend ANYONE…it’s such a rare talent to have, I am truly blessed…

          HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! JUST KIDDING!!!

So anyways, I am not sure what happened to make people upset at other people (other than a locked thread that’s 20 pages long and I can’t bring myself to read) – but I hope everything gets resolved and I find PMing is a fabulous way to work out issues and say you’re sorry for a trespass.
