Do ya think she could blow her own horn any louder? Sheesh. Professional? Where?
Professional, by definition, is :
following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain: participating for gain or livelihood in an activity or field of endeavor often engaged in by amateurs: engaged in by persons receiving financial returnSo to be fair, since it seems she does this for income, she is indeed a professional!
Someone claiming to be an expert, or an adept, at any given thing, is a little different. 😉 I too am a professional artist as it is my main source of income, but I don’t consider myself an expert!

My art: featherdust.comJanuary 9, 2007 at 5:16 pm #522459By definition I’m sure she is a professional. The kirin is beautifully done – just the color scheme is lacking. But professional or not – you post pictures for a reason, so people can see whether or not the product you’re selling is any good. So I think the professional ploy is rather superfluous. I doubt it impedes bidding any, but I think the attitude does make a difference. I mean, compare this to your copperplate, Nam. What did the description say? Windstone artist Jennifer Miller, and that was good enough. The pictures – and our preceding dib-calling – did the rest. 🙂
January 9, 2007 at 5:19 pm #522460I really like this little guy, but it’s not worth that kind of money. It looks like she spent so little time on it. I agree with Ski, add some more of the blue scales, but not overdone and I would be more apt to bid on it.

My thoughts exactly!
January 9, 2007 at 5:21 pm #522462I don’t like to compare anything! That only gets me in trouble!! 😆

January 9, 2007 at 6:12 pm #522464This is what she wrote.. and she seems very nice.
“Hi there; well sure I’d be happy to make alterations to her if you wanted something specific likes scales :o) I considered painting more scales but in the end I wasn’t sure if it would add too much colour. But of course if the winning bidder would like me to paint the scales on her legs I can do that! Thanks for asking, Heather”
January 9, 2007 at 6:14 pm #522465oooh- Ski- let us know if you get it!!

January 9, 2007 at 6:21 pm #522467Good luck, Ski. You’re right; she does sound like a very nice lady.
January 9, 2007 at 6:30 pm #522468Thanks. I like him… she said she would add color… she will include a letter of authenticity… thats enough for me! I put in a bid 😀
January 9, 2007 at 6:30 pm #522469In my communications with her she seems very nice and I know no one on MH$P has badmouthed her for being rude or doing poor work.
January 9, 2007 at 6:31 pm #522470Thats great! Another plus. 😀
January 9, 2007 at 7:01 pm #522471Actually looking at it again. I like it and it is starting to grow on me. It is her first one, right? Maybe we should also take that into consideration also.
January 9, 2007 at 7:18 pm #522472Great! Now I have competition!! 😛 Just kidding 😆 It is her first. She normally does model horses.
