Heh, he doesn’t even have his tag, either. >.> I’d be tempted to sell mine too, if Ruby wasn’t the only color I like the Sun Dragon in. XD
I want one of these guys in this color too,but i was hoping he would at least have his hang tag on him. There was one that was on Ebay a little while ago that i know was mint and had his hang tag ,dont think he had his box, but he went for around 500.00. …….Kept my eye on this 1 though just to see where he would go and i deffinately will wait. They come up here and there.
A year and two ago, mint-with-tag Sun Dragons would go about $250-300, Oriental Dragons about $200, and Youngs $75-150.
This Sun went for $900, Oriental Dragons are averaging $250-300, and the _babies_ have been going for upwards of $250 in the more sought-after colors.
What the HECK made these things so hot?!?

I think maybe the new Amethyst ones might have sparked it too–people saw how beautiful they were and wanted to get the older ones too?
OK everyone, I got the Ruby dragon and the male Kirin. I have come into alittle bit of $$ from a horse sale. I always like the special pieces and finally had the money to get them. Someone ran the price up so my last bid was crazy high. Of all my Windstone sets I love the Ruby and I like the sun’s. Thay are REALLY cool to me. on my Emeralds I got a lg. and sun for right at 300.00 for both. These were pieces I wanted and luckly had the $$ to get them.

Congratulations on your new pieces. I especially love your new kirin. I also see why everyone loves the ruby orientals. I have one and he is my husbands favorite and that says alot because my husband doesnt like ornaments lol 🙂

Do you have a Sun box to send for him to be shipped in? I don’t care how well a seller packs; he will be safest in a Windstone box.
Oh dear, please don’t feel like you need to defend yourself! Reading my last post it could come off as griping; I was just so surprised at how sought-after the Oriental Dragons have become in the last year. Everyone is crazy about them! Including me! If I wasn’t so nuts over the ones I’ve managed to capture so far, I’d be sorely tempted to put mine up for sale. Congratulations on your new pieces. That Sun is truly amazing, Secrethope. 🙂
In line with what Chris said-I was TOTALLY not trying to call anyone out or upset anyone-so Secerthope, please dont think that. I was just surprised that a production piece (that wasnt an old green or old brown emp) went so high-but he was worth that to you and Im happy you got him! The ruby suns dont come up for sale much at all-so its lucky you jumped on him when you did! *hugs*
:bigsmile: No worries ya’ll. I had no idea that there are new members to this forum who are running prices up to amounts that are just NUTS. But it’s just something that we all have to deal with. The one thing I do wander is if those people actually won could they pay.
I believe that I’ll stay away from the ebay pieces for a while and buy from either ya’ll, the store or the on-line stores. I LOVE THIS FORUM AND THE PEOPLE ON IT!!!! I would not have the collection that I do if it hadn’t been for all of you. (((BIG GROUP HUG))) and a truly big THANK YOU!!!
