Buyer was a newbie…Italian Hockey? Looks suspect. Good eye! Probably didnt get what they wanted for it.
March 23, 2007 at 4:07 pm #554513Well they could of offered it to the second winning bidder.
March 23, 2007 at 4:08 pm #554514Maybe they don’t accept whatever form of payment the original winner was wanting to use? Maybe they don’t ship to where the winner is from? That or they didn’t want to sell it to someone with “0” for feedback are my guesses.
March 23, 2007 at 4:08 pm #554515I dont ever do that just because it looks like shill bidding.
March 23, 2007 at 4:10 pm #554516I was the second winning bidder. I talked to both, the husband was willing to sell me the entire collection for $200, then the wife came in and said they were rare, valueable, and worth $400(haha, the whole pile only sold for $225 including this one).
I think they are kinda shady, but I’m still going to try to win this one. Last time he ended I was sick. She said that the biddder bid on the wrong one(I asked her if she had more than one). If he sells cheap enough, I think it’s worth the risk.
March 23, 2007 at 4:12 pm #554517Well good luck. I hope they aren’t shady about having the peices.

Me too. that’s my only worry. that’s why i won’t bid like I do on others.
the husband just seems like he wants rid of them. the wife seems….a little more difficult.
March 23, 2007 at 5:29 pm #554519I had asked them about local pickup since we are in the same city and it would save shipping costs and potential postal damage. I offered to pick them up or meet him somewhere and I would pay either in cash or paypal.
The husband e-mailed me back and said he is selling these for his wife and would not allow pick up.
It was a bit short and unpolite.
I decided not to bid because I don’t trust someone who won’t allow items like these to be picked up in the same neighborhood without giving a valid reason.

Wow. that’s bizarr. He seemed like he just wanted rid of them. He was totally cool with me paying $200 plus shipping for the collection, just “get them gone” type of thing. Then she wrote back about how they were the RARE retired valuable shaded chipfree ones. Worth not a dime less than $400. i polietly told her I’d just bid on the one I wanted then. None of them went for anything really. Not what they “should” have sold for. Wonder if they were rude to everyone.
If I do win, and they don’t ship, will do you beat them up for me? 😆
March 23, 2007 at 5:40 pm #554521Its sounding shadier by the minute!

Yeah.
Before I bid, what are paypal’s policy’s on forgien country stuff? Can I get my money back if this thing never shows up? If he sells for a measly $45 again, ti’s worth it to try(I paid $112 for mine).March 23, 2007 at 6:02 pm #554523Paypal protection does cover Canada, but this particular seller won’t be covered by them. The seller does not have feedback higher than 50 and, of the feedback, it is not at least 98% positive. Below is the quote from paypal:
EBay Items Eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection. Every item on eBay (except Live Auctions and vehicles) that meets the above requirements is eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection up to $200.00 USD (Basic Tier Coverage Amount), but items are only eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection up to $2,000.00 USD (Top Tier Coverage Amount) and should be identified as eligible items in the eBay listing if:
seller’s eBay feedback rating is at least 50;
At least 98% of the seller’s eBay feedback is positive;
The seller has a Verified Premier or Verified Business Account in good standing;
The listing was on an eligible eBay site (eBay.com and certain other eBay sites self identified as such)
PayPal is listed as an acceptable payment methodMarch 23, 2007 at 6:03 pm #554524Definitely buyer beware….
