PC will probably post some of these on her LJ too, these are the photos that her husband took. I have not gotten to the ones i took yet.
We had a LOT of fun, I have not hiked that far in a looong time…doing ACTUAL Hiking.
We started off at the big falls:
the rocks were sooo coool!
I found a Woolybear on the trash can and we were fascinated with it. I’ll post the photos i took of it later:
I also found a BIG hornet nere another trashcan with all these smaller yellow wasps buzzing around. Chris and PC thought this was the funniest thing ever, other people stop and stared at me! it must be wierd to see some one with there lense up to a thing that could inflict severe pain on you if it wanted. PC joked that she was just waiting to see one of the smaller bees dive down my pants. NOT FUNNNY! lol
the rocks, again, were way coooool:
this was our destination:
We were the only ones there. we quickly went to investigate:
it was sooo pretty behind the little water fall:
after thoroughly climbing over every rock under the fall, we went to the RIVAH!!!!!

I was just there on vacation back in July. Looks like you had a really good time exploring. I couldn’t do much, I had injured my foot, so only made it down the trail as far as the old bathhouse on the beach where I soaked my foot for a while. There was a little more water when I was there in mid-July 😉

Don’t tell me I did that again…I knew better will correct it. 🙄
October 3, 2008 at 2:12 am #734854Ya, I’ve been to the falls myself 6 different times, and every time the water levels were different. And that difference alone made each time a different experience. The very first time I went, there had been so much rain that the river was a torrent. The falls hardly seemed to be there. It was an awesome sight. If you do a google image search on the cumberland falls you will come up with some pics that are similar to what I saw then.
October 3, 2008 at 4:14 pm #734855the hike was sooooooo cool! i have not done a good barefoot hike in so long. my legs are possitively sore from all the steps.
