      Yep! I’m just curious. 🙂

thought so, On here I just log in and stay in. If I miss something I can always catch up with comments later. as for AOL or Yahoo, I hide because I don’t want people I don’t know contacting me to have sex. 😕

Wow, such nice comments! I’m not retarded and I don’t think I’m “accomplishing” anything by keeping my status hidden. 🙄

No one said YOU were retarded. I am entitled to think its retarded to hide your online status and post. Defeats the purpose of hiding your online status, IMO. My comment was not directed at you.

I’ve never been “hidden” before…I guess I’ve never really had a reason so be, since I’m only logged in when I’m actually browsing the forum.

eh.. I did it once to keep someone from bugging me…

and have just been too lazy to turn it back….

I am often hidden because I’m not always at the computer, I leave the room for my son sometimes and it can take a long time. Or sometime I undertake something else away from the computer and only come back to refresh every once in a while. So I wouldn’t want to be online and go away then during that time a member tries to contact me by PMing. I wouldn’t want them to get the wrong idea and think I don’t read their PM or choose not to respond. 😉

Good reason!!! That’s why I do it sometimes (the leaving and not wanting people to think I’m not answering them part). 🙂

Frozen, you are sooooooo lazy!!! 😛 🙄

I’ve always wondered why the member names of people that are online (at the bottom of the page) are in different types, I figure I’m always in bold letters ’cause I pay the bills, but what do the other types of letters designate? I guess I could ask Snap…

                That’s a good question too…. 😉

That’s because you have moderator privileges. Italic names are those that are hidden from others, bold is yourself, and normal is everyone else.

Nam, are you back from the woods? Cause now you have to change your location again. 😆

I never think to hide myself. I sign in when I want to post. Otherwise I just don’t sign in. Of course there are times I forget to sign out. (I don’t spend all that long on here. It’s mostly fly in check things out and leave. 😆 Boy, it’s not fun being the only one in the office but, this way I do get hours.)

Doesn’t the forum automatically log you off if you’re not active for a certain length of time? Or does that vary from computer to computer?
