Late in on the conversation, but… Congrats travistie!
How many Windstones do you have now anyway? Thanks GB! I was kinda suprised I was picked so soon for this.
Anyway, I’ve got a small collection compared to most. I just counted them in my head, and I’ve got 15. 7 Poads(tm), and 8 dragons.

I will not be anywhere near sharks! I’ll be lucky if I step foot in the ocean at all while I’m there! Are you serious? Why on Earth not? 😯 Why go to an island if not to swim in the oceans? 🙁
You’ve all prolly seen this one but I’ll post it anyway 😀 My Brother and his family live in Melbourne, OZ and love to surf, although after Chrissie (sister-in-law) saw this one on the news she wasn’t too sure she was gonna let Lauren (the 3 year old) out on the board with Dad for awhile. This hasn’t been photoshopped and that’s Dave (bro) on the board. His friend Mohonri snapped it. 😀

All I can say is – holy crap! 😯
That was a shark, and not a dolphin right?
Shark. You can tell by the tail angle. Shark tail is vertical and stands up like the dorsal fin. Dolphin tail is horizontal in shape, like a horizon line. Sharks swim with a ‘back & forth’ motion. Dolphin and whales swim with an ‘up & down motion’ I think it’s called undulation.

March 6, 2008 at 5:41 pm #674209Okay, yeah you’re right! I just realized that now about the tails. That is an incredible shot! Very scary too!
I’m assuming the shark did not harm him right?

Didn’t get hurt thank God! Did see it so pulled all appendages (arms, legs, fingers, toes,) out of the water and waited it out. You can bet the guards on the beach cleared the water FAST and closed the beach for the rest of the afternoon to make sure it had vacated the premises! But Holy Sh*t! Dave takes the girls out all the time! I’d hate to lose my family that way!

Well, thank goodness it didn’t try to go after him. That thing looks huge in the pic!
March 6, 2008 at 6:33 pm #674212Shark attacks are very rare so I am not too worried. Justin is a kid, though, so is succeptible to horror stories. 😆
March 6, 2008 at 6:41 pm #674213Oh my….that is sooo neat….like Ski said, shark attacks are rare, and sharks in general get a bad rap alot of the time. They are beautiful creatures, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. You’d find me safely on the beach if there was a shark anywhere nearby. 😆

Yes, that is what I’ve heard. Poor piggy!
You can also have this stuff called poi. (I think I spelled that right). It’s a paste of some sort and the Hawaiians love it. I’ve heard mixed reviews about it though. Some people like, and others hate it. I think I’ll give it a try, and find out for myself though.
You can keep the poi, but I’ll take seconds on the pig….it’s delicious! 😆
If you visit the black sand beach(es), don’t take any sand or rocks as a souvenir….Hawaiian legend has it that Pele will curse you and I believe it!

http://dragcave.ath.cx/user/36343Yes, I have heard that! I will not be taking any of that stuff… cause I do believe it too. I’ve seen shows on the travel channel about Hawaii, and how people are always sending back rocks and sand… cause bad stuff started happening to them! 😯

I’d have to say that Desmond is my favorite character.
The episode last week, about him and Penny, had me tearing up near the end!

I’m hoping we can do Alaska next year. If we get a house though… that will probably need to wait a quite a while.quote]
I’m late on the Hawaii comments… but You’re going to LOVE it! I went when I was 16 and am going again in April… I’m soooo excited to be going back. It really is paradise.
What island are you going to?
March 7, 2008 at 6:36 am #674221Wow, twindragonsmum! That’s one impressive photo.
