Okay, I know how to baby-proof just about everything in my house, except for all of the electrical wires where my computer is. The computer desk that I have does not allow for me to hide the wires behind it because Chloe can easily have full access under the desk. Also, the computer is in the living room, and there is no other room that we can put it in. How do I keep these wires out of Chloe’s reach?
September 25, 2008 at 6:17 pm #733803twisty ties… like from the bread package… group them all together with the twisty tie… and then either attach it to the side/rear of the desk with more twisty ties… or duct tape…
that’s how my sister did hers for her new baby.. her desk is glass with access all across the bottom..
the legs on hers were thin enough for twisty ties…
and I put on the safety “locks” for the cabinets last time I was there…
September 25, 2008 at 7:03 pm #733804That or I think you can buy flexible PVC tubing at any hardware store (I think, no quoting me on this) which you can use to cover the wires (and is a bit more removable then ductape). But short of that, twist ties works great too. But not so much against chewing hazards.

That is what we had to do with our audio system. All the wires run through tubing now because my cat kept chewing on them. 🙄 Loki hasn’t been able to chew through the tubing and I assume Cloe doesn’t have quite as sharp teeth as my cat. 😆
September 25, 2008 at 10:44 pm #733806I’d go with the flexible tubing and really recommend that you Don’t use duct tape (from personal experiance) or you could take some fabric an sew that into a tube and thread all your cables through that. The rubber/plastic tubing is easier though, cause you can slit it open and just stuff all the wires in with out having to unplug anything. 😛

This is what Zack got, his computer and desk are in our living room too, he got larger ones for all the tv wires, etc (he has a modded TV system, lots of cable). They make like a flexible coil wrap around thing from Best Buy too, if I can find it, I’ll post the link for you,..Good luck!
September 26, 2008 at 4:55 pm #733808PVC pipe, huh? I will have to try that and see if it works. Dragonmistress, thank you so much for the link, but I am a little concerned with it’s low rating (even though there is only two), but I might check the hardware store first, and then check out Baby’s R’Us
