I thought for sure this was an Emerald Peacock fledge until I saw the stock photos of it online seem to have an orange crystal on their foreheads, and this guy’s is light blue. Also he has a lot more violet than the store photo but I know the colors can vary from production run to run. Little help?
I was wondering that….but check out the difference between the Ravnheart photo and the Astralcastle one.
It does look a bit like the Ravnheart photo, but if he is a regular Peacock, he looks nothing like the Mama and Papa Peacock Dragons I have. They look exactly like the Astralcastle photo’s coloring. Did the colors on this one vary that greatly?
That’s a normal peacock fledge. I know the colors are somewhat similar but note where the colors are placed! On peacock fledges, the purple is down the dorsal line, where on empeas it’s green, for example.
Astral Castle’s Emerald Peacock photo seems to be one of the ‘intense violet’ versions, which have since been toned down by the factory to the color you see here:
Here is a normal peacock for comparison.

The color on the mother, father, young, hatching, and emperor peacock dragons is more subdued and is the ‘old’ peacock.
Most Fledges, scratchers, Old Warriors, Spectrals/Risers and the hatching royalty have a much more vibrant ‘newer’ peacock.

My art: featherdust.comThat is a regular Peacock fledgling. The fledglings tend to be a little brighter peacock than some of the mother, male, hatchling, young, and emperor Peacocks. The Spectrals and lap dragons seem to have the brighter peacock coloring as well. There also can be a little variation in how the color is applied, depending on who painted the little guy. Mine is the same coloration, but a little different than yours in the way the color is placed on the face for example. 🙂
