I know this feeling all too well!! I’m trying to hang on but it’s getting more and more difficult every day
We all feel this way sometimes. I know I’ve been struggling with these kind of feelings for along time. It seems to get better then…bang right back in my place. My best advice, (even if I don’t do it often enough) try to keep positive. Count your blessings, even if it’s just a crumb. Hopefully there will always be a friend there to help. You are not alone, even if you feel like it. Final advice, don’t let others drag you down. Find a positive person and hang on.

October 3, 2007 at 3:50 am #623325If you find yourself dragging yourself down with your own worries, find someone to hang out with, someone to chat with. Even if it’s just talking about was on tv the night before. We are social creatures and we need interaction with others even if we tell ourselves that we don’t.

Engaged to a WeaselOctober 3, 2007 at 10:39 am #623328Draco, nobody can talk you out of smoking just like nobody can talk you out of your feelings. You have to live with yourself and you have to make yourself happy, one day or even one moment at a time. I can tell you from experience that it isn’t easy, but you never know what life has in store for you, ya know? You aren’t alone…we’re here for you.
PS Please don’t shave BiPolar’s head! 😆
October 3, 2007 at 6:16 pm #623329ok well my sister is on her way to pick me up..wish me luck! 😯
October 3, 2007 at 6:19 pm #623330Realizing how bad smokers smell helped me quit. My hair, breath, hands, and clothes all stunk. That bugged me. Also, the health reasons. Some folks may not care about that, but I dont know too many that dont mind stinking. 😉 Good luck!!
October 3, 2007 at 6:47 pm #623331Hang in there. We’re all rooting for you, and we’re always here if you need to vent 🙂
“I’m hanging the ropes of hope
It’s getting hard to cope, ya know”Just keep hanging on.

I concur, no one can convince you one way or another. You just have to get to that point yourself.
Just a couple of points to consider. I don’t smoke, but have had friends that do and the one that quit about 10 years ago said that food actually tastes better since your sense of smell comes back. Just something to ponder.
As to tackling something like this (I am dealing with other problems, but in some ways they are similar) you just need to realize what cost you are paying. You will pay it regardless (whether you stop smoking or not), there is no free lunch so to speak. You can travel the long road of withdrawls, cravings, etc. and improve your health or enjoy the pleasure of smoking and then pay for it medically and with the outgo of cash for the product itself. It boils down to what quality of life you want and what (and when) you’re willing to pay for it.
After re-reading this, it sounds a bit grim, but it’s pretty matter of fact.

Take in a deep (smoky or not) breath and go for it!

He does well for a couple of days sometimes up to a week and then bam he starts up again. But at least it isn’t before. He also knows that he stinks when he smokes and he hates that.
