This year so far has been the worse for my health..and the stress is just a but much right now. for the moment i have stopped painting and drawing until i am feeling better…and that is really agitating me.I am still going to paint PYO’s though. That seems to be with in my ability to handle.
I was put on antibiotics for a month..then a month more and on top of that i still got terribly sick. With all the pain in the morning I am back to staying up until 2-3 in the morning because i can’t sleep. I really hate waking up with the taste of blood in my mouth and green snot.
Today I finaly got to see the right docter..i was in the room with him for only 10-15 minutes. the whole visit could be summed up with,” yup, you need surgery.”
so I will be getting surgery done, I do not know when yet…I have to wait on the insurance for the date. In the mean time…painful mornings and sinus infections. I’ll be happy when this all is over.
I have had this health problom for 6 years, and no doctor before has been able to fix it. I am hoping this fixes it for good.any one else have health problom horror stories?

After a couple years of random spasms and nerve pains down the leg she was finally sent for an MRI and confirmed to have a herniated disc and a bone spur on the spine (which is what ripped up the disc).
She’s been off work since Xmas and we’re waiting for surgery.
She can walk normally and fall down out of nowhere, or not be able to even stand up. At this point she’s gone to stay with her brother and wife because I am not home enough to take care of her since I have to work extra consulting time to make up for her lost work.
May 16, 2007 at 3:09 am #577627I just am cursed with a constant low-grade illness. Literally the same week I get over any one thing, I come down with something else, it feels like.
I have a fatigue problem (finally seeing a doctor for it, they’re doing tests right now,) and I think it’s affected my immune system, so I catch every flu and cold and whatever other bug there is. Bleah.
Nothing huge and major though, so I really don’t have anything to complain about.

my mom had a hurniated disk and it caused her terrible pains. I sure hope the surgery helps your girlfriend. 🙁
May 16, 2007 at 3:48 am #577629I hope surgery helps, Koishii. Being sick is a nuiscance.
May 16, 2007 at 3:52 am #577630koshiikitty, i hope surgery works. i had sinus surgery when i was an undergrad. they essentially opened up the passages in my sinuses, like knocking down walls in a building. after that, i stopped getting sinus infections on a regular basis.

I am hoping it works too. I already had one…and evidently it did not work.
May 16, 2007 at 7:12 am #577632no real horror stories here, at least not so far, knock on wood. I wish every one the best of luck
May 16, 2007 at 7:24 am #577633I am very glad you are getting it fixed. I hope the surgery goes well. I am also glad you are not going to stop painting PYOs. That would be a crime!
I have no real medical horror stories. I have been pretty blessed. 🙂
May 16, 2007 at 11:19 am #577634Good luck, Koishi!
I don’t have any health stories/issues. My health is so good, it’s almost sick!
Snap, did your girlfried try a chiropractor? They can really help. It’s finding a good one that can be tricky.
Spark, you may want to consult a naturopath for the fatigue. My mom also does one of these cleansings once a year, and her energy levels are much better.
Just call me Dr. Medley!

On her first visit to the chiro she had gas in both directions for hours afterwards.. now that is the funniest thing to watch, but at least she could eat again. How the heck can you live without a functioning stomach and not have a doctor figure it out? That was just stupid. She ended up developing IBS because of it, basically the bowels dried up without any stomach activity.
But it seems her spine was just grown funny and that was only the beginning so now hopefully the surgery will correct the rest of it — we have to avoid the chiro for now due to the whole disc and spur thing.
May 16, 2007 at 2:40 pm #577636I have two permanent injuries due to two different 16 year old girls rear-ending my car. I have one in the middle of my back, about bra level. It was a long time ago, and the muscles just won’t go back to how they were.
The other one is in my lower back and left hip. I see a chiropractor regularly. However, my car insurance cut me off of benefits and I have to pay for the visits by myself. I’m suing to get the money to cover what I owe, but it’s a long drawn out process. I also no longer have that car insurance.
I can walk normally most of the time, but sometimes I need a cane. My middle back just hurts and sometimes gives me migraines. There’s not much I can do about them if I don’t want to live on pain killers, and I don’t, so I just deal with it until it gets too bad and I have to take something.
May 16, 2007 at 4:07 pm #577637Let’s wish for Good Health for everybody!
I was put on permanent disability at age 48 with an “end term” condition. That was 4 years ago and I am still kicking it!! So let’s talk about Windstones!! 😀May 16, 2007 at 4:36 pm #577638I know all about docters not figuring things out. for the first 3 years just about, the only thing i heard from docters was,” oh, you just have allergies and it caused a sinuse infection.”
oh wait….for 3 years? all year long? you would figure that after the first 3-4 sinuse infections they would think it was something else. But noooo. ever one knows that I just HAVE to have allergies.
Yeah, from what i remember, a chiropractor can make things a lot worse if you have herniated disk. They had no idea she had a bad disk and she was going to the chiropractor and it caused quite a bit more pain before she was able to get some scans.
