For school, I have to interview someone and write a profile about them. My teacher was giving some examples of people his previous students had interviewed, and some of them sounded pretty amazing. One student apparently went out and asked some homeless dude if he could have an interview–the homeless guy pulled a knife out at first, but he did get the interview in the end. (“Don’t do that,” my teacher said XD ).
Anyway. I was wondering if anyone has any good interview stories?
Also, who is the most interesting/weird/quirky person you know? You don’t have to give names. I just like to hear stories about interesting people. 🙂
Maybe these are strange questions… I’ve been doing homework all afternoon and am a little boggled.

Of course, it’s pretty cool once you’ve FOUND the person you want to interview! 🙄 I hope you find the perfect interview person…I wish I had a neat interview story to share… 🙂
October 24, 2008 at 2:21 pm #737183I would say interview your mom about starting a company back in the 80’s and keeping it alive and all the STRANGE fan base she started

That’s a neat idea!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I host the feedback lists, which are maintained by drag0nfeathers.

One of my clients was an older gentlemen who always came in dressed in a button down shirt, tie, vest, jacket and nice pants. Even one day when he brought his dog in on emergency he was neatly dressed. So one day I noticed he was wearing a pin of a caterpillar which just didn’t go with his outfit. I asked him about it. He said he was a member of one of the most exclusive clubs on earth – the caterpillar club was for pilots shot down behind enemy lines in WWII! 😯 (Actually it appears to be a club for people who use a parachute to jump out of a disabled aircraft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caterpillar_Club)
He then told me a couple of great stories of his experiences trying to get back to the front – and of flying missions. He was the most unassuming man – I never suspected until that day that he had such experiences!
October 24, 2008 at 5:46 pm #737187I’ve never had to interview someone for any reason (whew!)… my fiancee recently interviewed one of the deaf instructors at the UofA. He’s doing a report on it… well… hopefully it’s done…. it’s due today. But that’s about it. I live a boring life.
October 24, 2008 at 6:31 pm #737188I’ve had several of those assignments for doing interviews and writing a paper on it.. but I’ve never done any actual interviews..
I always just made it all up out of my head..
now the amazing part to that story.. is I passed every assignment.. and even got several compliments for a few of them..

Impressive! Being in Chemistry, I doubt I will EVER have to do an interview assignment (much less a paper like that… lol). Lucky me! 😀

Haha, I am considering it. That would be the easy way out, after all–don’t have to make an appointment with someone special, don’t have to stress over talking to a stranger. If I do end up interviewing my mom, I will share it with you guys. Even though you all ought to be sick of her interview after Windstoneradio! Haha, kidding. Maybe I’ll share it with you guys even if I don’t interview her, hehe.
Frozen, I am so tempted to do that. You have no idea. My teacher would deserve it for jumping this assignment on us with so little notice! It’s due Thursday. Gaaah! I hate interviews. This is the second one I’ve had to do this term!
And wow, ddvm. That is amazing. That guy sounds like a real character… I’ve never heard of the Caterpillar Club before, either!
October 25, 2008 at 2:05 am #737191oh I’m there with you on the new assignment thing… my English teacher just decided our one part assignment is going to be a four part assignment… all due by 7 am Monday morning…
that didn’t make me have a good mood
October 27, 2008 at 7:08 am #737192Chessie? Just interview your mom. A lot of people out here think she’s pretty amazing. 😉
October 28, 2008 at 5:53 pm #737193If it’s due Thursday I can’t offer up my Mom (if you didn’t want to interview yours) She wasone of the very first Women (I can only say in canada, ’cause I don’t have the stats on the US, far less the world) to actually be a Hualage(Mine, specifically an Iron Ore Mine) Truck Driver, she’s been interviewed about it several times, she was also one of the first women in the Steelworkers Union(Canadain and US, maybe world too but can’t remember, I have shit for brains right now) to hold an Official title, and on at least on of the Conferences occasions has scared “Manly Man’s”. she has actually done alot behind the scenes of women’s rights with out making it a big deal (she doesn’t think she’s done anything special, but I definitly beg to differ, but it could just be pride in my mom!! 😀 )
Another option would be to Interview Snap!! 😈 😈
