I don’t get the whole need to text message someone during a movie. For the second time this summer (1st time during Live Free and Die Hard) I was sitting by someone who just HAD to text message during the movie. I find that very distracting. And the guy started doing it again just before the climatic scene in the Department of Mysteries which is a very dark scene. So I very politely asked him to close the phone as it was distracting. He actually apologized and did – after another minute. But why do it in the first place? A lit up screen in a dark theater is very obvious. πΏ
ROFL! Were you in my theatre? The EXACT same thing happened to me! Only difference was that I wasn’t the one that told the guy, “You know, EVERYONE can see that.” But seriously, it played out EXACTLY like that. Kinda spooky x_X
July 18, 2007 at 6:54 am #598956I got to see it, and transformers, on saterday, I enjoyed both, but also missed the small stuff from the book, like always. I understand the need to cut them out, but it still bothers me the way GOF was only about the tournament, and the housecleaning at 13 grimold place, heck you dont even get to know the address in the movie, just the small stuff. But the explanation about the map in POA has always bothered me the most heck it isnt until this one that you see his dad refered to as pronghorn, and I dont think the movies ever say why either. But I really liked the room of requirement parts.
July 18, 2007 at 5:03 pm #598957I haven’t seen the harry potter movie yet, but I have heard that they are only going to make 7 total.

That’s because there are only going to be seven books. The last one will be released this Saturday, Many stores will be open at 12:01 AM jist so people can by it.

Yep, that is the reason I heard. I also heard that the author didn’t even tell her family what is in the book so it should be a surprise for everyone.July 18, 2007 at 11:03 pm #598960yep all anyone knows is that it is called the deathly hollows.
July 20, 2007 at 3:53 pm #598961Well I got to see “Order of the Phoenix” yesterday. Missed the first few minutes due to getting to the theater late and they actually started the movie on time. I enjoyed it, but came out of the theater feeling flat. I know comparing it to “Transformers” is like comparing apples to oranges, but I enjoyed “Transformers” so much more.
July 20, 2007 at 5:01 pm #598962Book five does not have the cheery ending that the first three books had.. Six is even worse! I expect to be very depressed after seeing that movie.. Dumbledore.. sob.. I cried all through the end of that book!
July 20, 2007 at 7:24 pm #598963I’m going to go see it with Wolfen. π

Things like being addicted to odd candies, having a perfect map of the london underground for a birthmark, and giving strange but hilarious speeches on the first day of school are what I think of when I think of Dumbledore. Yet they left much of that out. He’s supposed to seem rather harsh in book five because that’s how Harry views him at the time. But he’s still kind to others.
My main problem with the movies are that they were done too early. I think stories like this need time to gel before they are put into another medium. Things need to be drawn many times before someone finally gets the right look. The entire series has been rushed for the purpose of making the most money and I think it shows.
EXACTLY. You hit the nail on the head.
July 28, 2007 at 4:57 pm #598965This movie was soooo boring. What a dissapointment. It had a few cool things but they were spread so far apart that the movie was almost painful to watch. I could not wait for it to end. π Even Jutin didnt like it and he is a die hard Potter fan.
July 29, 2007 at 2:17 am #598966The only reason I watch the Harry Potter movies is for the creatures. I got to see those – sort of; the centaurs were disappointingly fuzzy – so I’m taken care of. I did miss the color from the first movies, though.
July 29, 2007 at 7:45 am #598967I liked the flying skull horses, but that was it π Everything else was just filler. As my son said, “There was no action.” I guess the others were just so good that I expected more.
July 29, 2007 at 5:02 pm #598968You know i thought the durslys were off too π im glad its not me, i love them flying through London, Fab.

It was good, as they all are… but I was just a bit disappointed at all the little stuff that was left out. *shrug* The longer the books are, the less detail they can keep due to time. I understand it. It just sucks. I’d sit there for 5-6 hours for the whole deal, seriously. That’s what intermissions are for!
I agree that Umbridge & Luna were really good, and that the Dursleys seemed a bit off. The thestrals make me happy… you know the part. π
I just saw Harry Potter and I think Maebnus sums it up for me too!!! They left too much out, but overall, I enjoyed it and I loved Luna!!! π
