Anyone seen Order of the Phoenix yet? Liked, hated, didn’t care?
I thought Umbrage was great – much better than I was expecting. I didn’t like the first few minutes for some reason – I usually really the the actors that play his aunt and uncle but they seemed different. Probably the director. I wish they would stop changing the director every movie (although I think I heard this one is doing #6 as well.) And I really liked the threstrals but I thought the special effects for Gorp weren’t that great.

same here. don’t spoil the movie for us when you discuss it. if possible 😀
July 12, 2007 at 11:23 pm #598929Saw it today, the actress who played Umbridge did a great job, I absolutely hated her as I was supposed to. *grin*
Overall effects, acting and keeping with the storyline were right on for the most part. Fight scenes were awesome. I loved the girl they chose to play Luna, she’s adorable.
Okay, that’s all I’m gonna say for now.
Enjoyed the movie though, hope the rest of you do as well.

July 13, 2007 at 12:20 am #598930Just got back from it. It was good, as they all are… but I was just a bit disappointed at all the little stuff that was left out. *shrug* The longer the books are, the less detail they can keep due to time. I understand it. It just sucks. I’d sit there for 5-6 hours for the whole deal, seriously. That’s what intermissions are for!
I agree that Umbridge & Luna were really good, and that the Dursleys seemed a bit off. The thestrals make me happy… you know the part. 😀
July 13, 2007 at 1:49 am #598931Seeing it next week after some of the initial OMG from the kids has worn off so I can actually get in. Seeing Transformers this week instead (since a lot of people will be running to see OotP).
July 13, 2007 at 12:29 pm #598932We were going to see it but didn’t up getting tickets. They were all sold out. I can wait.
July 13, 2007 at 1:58 pm #598933Saw Harry Potter yesterday. It was pretty good. I haven’t read any of the books, so I think I have an advantage over the people who are really into reading them, because I don’t know (or care) about all the “little stuff” that gets left out and can just enjoy the movie for itself. I’ll read them eventually, but I’m not going to read further ahead than the movies I’ve seen.
July 13, 2007 at 2:42 pm #598934I want to see this movie soooooo bad but I don’t think I will be able to.

READ THE BOOKS!!! You will be forever glad that you did! 😀 Movies are only shadows in comparison.
July 13, 2007 at 8:41 pm #598936I still have to read the last book that came out. I picked it up but stopped reading it in the first chapter. I guess I’ll have lots of time to read it when my husband is in surgery.
July 13, 2007 at 8:45 pm #598937I can’t stand to wait like that 😯 I buy the books on opening day and have them read within 1-2 weeks. The first book I read in two days!
July 13, 2007 at 9:22 pm #598938I really enjoyed this one – the Thestrals were BEATIFUL and I really really enjoyed Luna. I thought that the casting for the new characters (Luna and Umbridge and Bellatrix) was very good. I think this Director was better than the last two. And though I was also disappointed at what they left out, I thought that overall, their choices were good. My favorite characters had very little screen time, but what time they had was GOOD. 😀
…but I hate…HATE…the current Dumbledore they have….He absolutely ruins it for me. He’s such a TERRIBLE Dumbledore!!! >_<"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."
