Wanted to wish everyone here a Happy and safe Thanksgiving. This year has not been too good to some of us, but we still have things to be thankful for. I wish this to be a positive thread with everyone posting what they are thankful for and happy about in their lives right now. So I’ll start with what I’m thankful and happy about:
I have my health.
I have a job with benefits.
I have shelter, food and covering.
I have wonderful neighbors.
I enjoy the company of 2 dogs and over 30 birds.
I have all of you to comfort me when I’m down and rejoice when I have good news.HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
November 25, 2009 at 11:37 pm #793977I’m thankful for what I have, and for everything I don’t that I wouldn’t want to have anyway. π
I’m thankful for where my life has led me, for without being where I have been, I wouldn’t be who I am now. 8)HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
November 26, 2009 at 12:58 am #793978My gran’ma taught me this hymn when I was little – I know that there are some of us here with other beliefs and my intention is NOT to offend, but I’d like to share my family’s Thanksgiving tradition π Please remember that my gran’ma comes from a very religious upbringing, but I like this hymn because she taught it to me π
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings; name them one by one,
And it will suprise you what the Lord has done. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings; every doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.So amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all.
Count your many blessings; angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my other family!from Twindragonsmum, the twin dragons and their papa (Roddy) π

November 26, 2009 at 6:20 am #793980I’m thankful to have a job.
I’m thankful to have an intact and caring family.
I’m thankful to have a dog who’s always happy to see me, no matter how lousy my day has been and how grumpy I am.
I’m thankful to have a car that always runs when I need it.
I’m thankful to have a motorcycle to brighten every single day.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to buy a house and move into grown-up self-sufficiancy.
I’m thankful to be living in a civilized and safe country.
I’m thankful for my friends. And before this list gets too long, I’m thankful to know that when I go home tonight, turkey and cranberries and pumpkin pie and all sorts of other delicious cuisine will be hot and steaming on the table, ready to eat. π
November 26, 2009 at 3:03 pm #793981It’s funny you’d bring this up, LadyFirebird, because I just made myself a list of 101 things I’m thankful for to put in my LJ. I’m not going to inflict them all on you here, but you can see them at the link below, if you’re curious. π
