Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians.
I’m probably going out to eat tomorrow. My mom isn’t well enough to host, and she isn’t in the right frame of mind either. So we’re probably going to Swiss Chalet tomorrow since my sister has to work today. Alot less stress, and cleanup for sure. 😆
And to the Americans, Happy Columbus Day!
October 8, 2007 at 12:13 pm #624425Ah, that’s the reason the U.S. post offices are closed today.
It’s a regular old work day here.October 8, 2007 at 12:37 pm #624426Yep, I have to work too. I think all us working grown ups should have off all the same days as the school kids… and get paid for them! 😛
October 8, 2007 at 12:38 pm #624427That’d be cool. 😆
October 8, 2007 at 1:08 pm #624428Happy Thanksgiving Canada!!! 😀
October 8, 2007 at 5:57 pm #624429Happy Thanksgiving to all you Canadians enjoy
October 8, 2007 at 7:48 pm #624430Thanks all. Did do a big turkey thing, mom’s still in bed and I so did not want to cook a huge turkey for the four of us (hunny drove down to spend the weekend with me). We did Swiss Chicken too. That’s close to a turkey…right?
October 8, 2007 at 11:48 pm #624431Along with GB, I don’t have the pleasure of having thanksgiving, actually I really don’t know what it is 😆
October 9, 2007 at 12:27 am #624432Well, Canada has Thanksgiving in October and the US has their’s in November. I haven’t figured out why it’s different dates but hey…any ways it’s a holiday to get together with family, eat turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and all that fun stuff til you can’t move. And then eat turkey leftovers for a week.
It was originally intended as a holiday to give thanks for a good harvest…now it’s just a day to stuff yourself. Not that I don’t do that on a regular basis anyways 🙂
October 9, 2007 at 1:09 am #624433Ours is honestly more a celebration of harvest, the states is set up in November for um, I don’t remember. I’ll come up with the right answers eventually. I’m good at history, it’s just remembering.
I consider chicken close enough to turkey. I actually like to do ham at Thanksgiving, and turkey for Christmas. Even though turkey is alot better for you, ham is just cheaper, and easier to cook. 😆
October 9, 2007 at 5:30 am #624434Happy Turkey Day to the rest of the Canadians!
We had dinner with Turkey, stuffing and roasted baby potatoes and lots of other yummy stuffs (now I’m stuffed 😛 ) and the whole family all together. 9 of us plus the 2 dogs, who were remarkably good about not begging too much at the table and only whined at the leftovers on the counter 😀
October 9, 2007 at 6:00 pm #624435Yumm, Turkey. Happy Thanksgiving guys.
October 9, 2007 at 6:05 pm #624436Aw…now I want turkey too…*stomach growls..*
