Hope everyone has a great day, whether you are celebrating thanksgiving or no…It’s sooooo cold today, but the horse & goats now have a heated water tank, so no more breaking ice 🙂 Yay, happy day.

November 23, 2007 at 10:23 am #638254I had to work, too, Romeo…don’t feel alone. So who’s going Black Friday shopping? Not me….I won’t brave the crowds no matter how good a deal it is. Unless it was Windstones, of course. 😆
November 23, 2007 at 12:26 pm #638255Black Friday? You mean stores actually close for Thanksgiving in the States?
November 23, 2007 at 2:38 pm #638256Most do, some don’t. I “get” to go out and brave Black Friday but I’m not going out at two in the morning and stand in the freezing cold! 😯 😯 😯 Besides, the things I’m after aren’t anything that’s in the big sales. My sister in law, on the other hand, has everything co-ordinated with her family; they divide up the shopping list for groups of two and each pair heads a different direction armed with cell phones, coupons and ads. 😯 😯 😆 😆 Her family is veeerryy efficient and usually gets everything on their lists.

Most stores are closed on Thursday, but on Friday they have huge sales. Some are open extra early, so the best deals are at 4:00 am. It’s called Black Friday because it’s usually the day of the year that business’ books go from the red (in debt) to the black (profit). It’s a zoo, and sometimes people get trampled when the doors open. It’s not worth it to me to save a few bucks on something.

Most do but not all. This is the first year I’ve not had to work on Thanksgiving!!
Good luck to all of you that brave the Black Friday sales. When I worked in retail Black Friday was always the worst day of my life. I think I worked a 10-12 hour shift one year without even having time to stop and run to the restroom the entire time!! It’s the stuff of nightmares.

November 24, 2007 at 11:02 am #638260You, too, ‘jade: -)
Many moons ago, I worked retail, too. I felt sorry for the people unlocking the doors on BF and the One Day Sales. If they didn’t move out of the way fast enough, they got shoved aside and risked being trampled (seriously). The kicker: even though the stuff was on sale, it was still overpriced. 🙄
