Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.April 3, 2014 at 12:53 am #910989The Maple trees in our yard are actually starting to have buds! About 2-1/2 weeks later than normal… but Spring is coming!
We also saw our yearly visitor, a female Mallard duck, this evening checking out our bird feeders for dropped seed. 🙂IN SEARCH OF MY NEXT GRAILS:

*** Come visit me on deviantArt at http://ela-hara.deviantart.comApril 3, 2014 at 3:32 am #910998We got some more snow last night so our city looks a bit like the snowy picture still. We have some geese and mallard ducks that I have been seeing around in the last month that I feel sorry for because it’s still cold and snowy here. I am not sure why they come back so early as even though it was warm a couple of weeks, it now looks like winter again.
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
April 3, 2014 at 2:30 pm #911025We are starting to see flowers around the neighborhood 🙂 It isn’t the best day for taking photos, but I wanted to beat the rain.
Pieris is in full bloom and forsythia is starting:
Star magnolias [Magnolia stellata] are beginning to flower:
Some rather beat-up sasanqua camellias (the fall/winter/very early Spring blooming camellias) have opened. I am surprised that any buds survived the winter, but glad to see that they did:
April 4, 2014 at 12:00 pm #911063Your Star Magnolias are beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Our Magnolias bloom in late Summer usually.
My Maple tree is finally beginning to bud.She is a herald of Spring for me.It keeps it’s buds tucked away until after the last freeze and it has always been correct.I bet these trees are more accurate that the groundhog. 😀Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Unfortunately, with the terribly HOT and Dry Summer and Fall we had last year, all of our azaleas died, and they WERE pretty pinks ones like yours, too. So we need to get new plants this Spring.IN SEARCH OF MY NEXT GRAILS:

Got a pic anyone?I would love to see real shots, not internet/magazine if you know what I mean. 🙂
This year’s weather has been interesting to say the least. They are saying a slow hurricane year down here so I am thinking…hmmm,if we go by the last six month’s weather patterns,I am inclined to ignore the forecasts and go on hurricane watch for myself. This year I am not worried for us,we have a way out! 😉
Anymore photos? Any you want to share?
This is my baby in final bloom. This is in evening w/o flash and more to the natural color. It is the Fusia pink color. It rained hard so the blooms are done for now.A Monarch Butterfly did come visit for a couple of days in between rain and munched but only one.My Maple Tree is budding so Spring is officially here!

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.April 14, 2014 at 7:32 pm #911498I believe last year they predicted more hurricanes than normal, and we got fewer than usual. If a “below normal” year is predicted this time I would be heading for higher ground. 😉
April 15, 2014 at 12:25 am #911509April 16, 2014 at 6:02 pm #911593Oh man, I’m such a curmudgeon right now. A couple of days ago, it was almost 70 degrees out, and today, I woke up to snow on the ground. I’m wearing a winter cap and had to brush off my car. Seeing all these flowers makes me want to flip a table! Winter is never going to end here!
Joking about the table…. sort of =P
April 16, 2014 at 6:48 pm #911599Yep, things have been saying spring is sprung here
When a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of love…
We’re at the southern edge of their tolerable zone, so after this horrible winter our azaleas around here are putting on much more of a show than most springs.
GORGEOUS!! The Fuzzyz even came out to enjoy a beautiful day!Spring is in the air
