It looks like your bush with big flowers could be a hibiscus – hard to tell at this stage.

March 22, 2014 at 6:23 am #910225Here in Calgary, Alberta, it was getting warm the last couple of weeks and then it snowed again a couple days ago. The poor ducks and geese I saw down at the river last week must be cold! I am starting to wonder why some come back so early when they could wait a couple more months down south for our snow to melt!
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
March 22, 2014 at 10:05 pm #910295Oh, Bodine! What a lovely picture. It’s nice to see the greenery again.
It’s still pretty barren here in MA, and there’s still some melting snow on the ground. It got as warm as 40 today though, so that made me happy. We’re supposed to get more snow next week, though. 🙁

Yep,you are correct. That’s what they are.Big pink flowers with deep red centers w/long yellow stems that cover the bees that visit them with pollen. The bees love them.Thank you.

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.March 31, 2014 at 2:56 pm #910866March 31, 2014 at 11:41 pm #910885Nice azaleas. 🙂 The ones here probably will bloom near the end of April this year – later than usual I am guessing since the forsythia just came into bloom (and sometimes it starts at the beginning of March).
Unfortunately this long colder-than-normal winter has brought the deer to nibble our azaleas more than usual. 🙁
Edit – Almost forgot … it’s Opening Day for the local baseball teams (Washington and Baltimore)! They both won, too. 🙂
April 2, 2014 at 6:36 pm #910963What a difference a few days make. I will get some pics of other’s Azaleas. This is my only one, raised from a twig.I am kind of partial to it and will hate leaving it behind when I move.I have one branch pinned down to the ground so it will grow roots and I will take that piece with me and start over.

We’re forecasted to get 6-12 inches starting tomorrow night, and if it’s not snow it will be ice. So nope, nothing blooming around my home to show you! Thanks for sharing yours!

What blooms? Huh? Huh? Ach, I think spring is finally upon us and all that white stuff is going to melt! Any blooms will have to wait another few weeks… At least!
