That is awesome Ruffian and Darjeb! I love seeing Tristen!
For Halloween last year, my father-in-law took Chloe, me, and a bunch of neighborhood kids around the neighborhoods in a wagon pulled by two mules. 🙂 That was in Kansas….so this year in Iowa, Chloe and I will dress up as fairies, and my hubby is coming along for the trek as well. 🙂 We invited my sister-in-law and brother-in-law to come with their daughter as well. 🙂 I hope it will be fun!October 17, 2009 at 4:43 am #787166I love Halloween! I had a bunch of ideas for costumes this year, but unfortunately won’t have the budget to do anything much. I’m considering going as a Yip Yip if I can get the money for some fabric…
October 17, 2009 at 6:56 am #787167I have been working the gate at the local spook house…I dressed as GhostFace ans had tons of fun chasing cars up the lane to the actual beginning. It takes aobut 45 minutes to go through. I took the night off tonight and went through it for the first time tonight…I loved it! I scared the hell out of the 4 teenage girls in the front of our group by yelling at them from the other side of a thin wall. I laughed so hard I had to cross my legs. 😮 I fought temptation until I couldn’t anymore too, they made it all but 10 minutes through before I did it. 👿 <—Me. LOL It is ranked #8 of all the haunted houses in the state of Illinois…Not too shabby. 😉
Personally, this weekend I am hoping to get the yard decorated. I have many tombstones, and some webbing. I also get pumpkins, and straw bales, and corn shocks. We all dress up and hand out candy. I play spooky sounds CD’s, have black lights, and skulls that glow, a fog machine, and many costumes to choose from. We are hitting the clearance sections all over the day after Halloween to pick up stuff as we did last year. For $30 we managed to pick up quite alot on clearance last year. As we add to, in a few years, we will be buying tarps and whatnot to create our own backyard funhouse. Did I mention a chainsaw to go with? Friends who love this holiday as much as we do? And, what haunted house would be complete without a clown? MWUAHAHAHARuffian, that is one awesome house going on there. I can’t say if we will get to that stage ina few years, but I will be working on it! *evil grin*
Did I mention this is my favorite holiday? 😆

My sister made 2 of the Yip Yip costumes last year, dont know if she used a pattern at all though, she made them so the boys wearing them didnt have to carry bags the candy went into the mouth 😀 .

October 18, 2009 at 7:42 pm #787178I’m not going to dress up as anything [weird enough 😈 ] but I found some great Halloween cookie recipes in the local paper. So, gonna bake some cookies and bring them over to my neighbor’s–she’s got grandkids [copious amount of poo, old enough to be a grandma too]–do the ooooo and aaahhhh thing over their costumes, site, chat and eat sweets. That’s it!
October 18, 2009 at 7:54 pm #787179My Mum, my sisters and I will be at Salem, Massachusetts around Halloween… From our family history research we’ve been working on, we find that we are descendants of John and Mary Proctor, both of whom were convicted of witchcraft in 1692. John was executed by hanging. Mary was pregnant at the time so the ‘court’ decided to let her live until the baby was born. Some how she managed to escape. My family descends from the baby…
