Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.October 15, 2009 at 1:13 pm #787152I leave that up to hubbys aunt and uncle, they have spent tens of thousands of dollars on their halloween decorations for outside alone. They have a coffin with a skeleton or a zombie in it (they change it out) that jumps out at a person when they walk by it, a monster under their stairs, they have a mechanical fortune telling skeleton as well. Two years ago they had some poor 12 year old kid pee his pants.

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.October 15, 2009 at 4:08 pm #787154Gavin’s going to be Mario for Halloween this year. Hubby was orginally thinking the Joker, but has been talked into being Luigi (if we can find a costume in time – probably have to order online ASAP). I’ll probably find a blond wig and a tiara and wear my ren fair dress (it’s pink) to be Princess Daisy.
I have a small sign to put on the door and picked up a yard decorating kit at Wal-Mart for $15. It has a headstone, a skull, skeleton hands, spiders, et cetera.
October 15, 2009 at 7:46 pm #787155Wow Ruffian that is absolutely fabulous I love it. Here are a few of my decorations in the house. Many of these are getting pretty old as I have collected them thru the years
AND, OF COURSE, LAST BUT NOT LEAST LAST YEARS HALLOWEEN DECORATION OUTSIDE
October 15, 2009 at 10:07 pm #787156Nice darjeb!! We don’t really put up decorations but every year, all the neighbors gather together in the courtyard just outside our place and we sit and chat and eat and drink. It also makes it a lot easier for the kids, one stop shopping. 😀
October 16, 2009 at 12:15 am #787157Wow ruffian! What a setup! My neighbor across the street used to go all out on Halloween–it was his favorite holiday. He would dress up as, I forget the character name but it looked like the scream–had mask and black robes and a dagger. Well when the kids would come back out after they got their treats he would jump out at them from some undisclosed placed. Actually scared one girl so bad she ran into their rose bushes and they had to help get her loose. You never knew where he was going to be and he would scare me more than once.
Well one Halloween I got him back–I had this hideous mask–skull with lime green stuff and wild purple hair–it just looked scary. I had on just plain black clothing and I was holding a chain saw. Well he and a buddy were sitting in the driveway and I come around a van that was parked in front of the place. Didn’t say a word but as I walked, I dragged one foot behind me. Should of seen the look on his face and I could hear him ask his buddy ‘Who’s that–did you see that coming?’ I get closer and he nervously asks “Hi, can I help you?’ I just stood there and breathed heavy and asked in my normal voice ‘Where’s the candy.” The look of relief on his face when he realized it was me! 😆
Your place looks like it would be a blast to visit! Not for the faint of heart that’s for sure! 😮
October 16, 2009 at 12:31 am #787158Not sure totally what I am doing yet. If I don’t get to make anything, I have Ren garb and my Bleach cosplays I can choose from. If I get a chance to make what I’d like (and can get the fabric cheap enough and have the time to make it, I was hoping to make a costume for Max from Maurice Sendak’s “Where the Wild Things Are.” I had been planning on getting my pokemon cosplay done (Blaziken) in time done for Halloween, but it will have to wait a little. I don’t have the money to go out and get the wig, boots, and pants to do Death from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series before Halloween.
I’ll have to check out the decorations when I am home tomorrow Ruffian. 🙂
October 16, 2009 at 12:50 am #787159We dont usually decorate the yard, but we do pumpkins and wear costumes. I’ll probably be the same ugly demon I have been for the last three years. Paul is gonna be pilot (big stretch there) and Justin is gonna be a storm trooper. I love Halloween! We’ll have to make a “Show your pumpkins and costumes” thread when its nearer to Halloween. 🙂
October 16, 2009 at 2:08 pm #787160Wow ruffian, that kicks tail!
October 16, 2009 at 2:39 pm #787161Ya they are nuts, and they buy new stuff every year and it is always different.
Alex is dressing up as Link from Zelda.
October 16, 2009 at 3:10 pm #787162Oh that is one way cool & freaky video, Ruffian!
Great job!
In the years past the adults got to hide in the blackness of the country, my husband and his sister have split 17 acres and let me tell you it is black out here. No light & utter silence… The only downfall is the full moon…when it is time.
We would hide and all the children rode in the wagon, we would jump out and scare them wearing various costumes, the whole path was lined with fishing line dangling from the trees, like you are going under spider webs and at the end is a witches big black stock pot brewing (fog machine) while an adult has dressed for the part and is sitting in a rocker waiting to give away candy…It is actually the suspence and the unknown that gets them… 😆
It was a nice time, my nephew’s birthday is late October and that was his party…Now he’s older and everyone has basically grown out of being scared…
Now we just put out the “Great Pumpkin” blowup and I decorate the house with cool stuffs…& afterwards I put up the ghastly items and leave the colors out for Thanksgiving…
I miss scaring those kids… 😀
October 16, 2009 at 9:40 pm #787163Bon Temps!! 😀
