Happy Halloween everyone! I managed to squeeeeze into my Elizabeth I costume I made years ago, complete with farthingale, corset, boned bodice – the whole 9 yards… I’m down about 56 lbs. but have 45 more to go. Couldn’t breathe, yawn or sit down but the kids got a kick out of it. S wore his duster which made him look more like a priest than anything else – mum got some good pix, we passed out treats, put a quilt on the boards to start quilting, also watched Hocus Pocus and did the neighborhood pot-luck as well. Also took my niece Tay out to Gardner Historic Village along with S for the WitchFest this afternoon. All in all not a bad day (finally!) Didn’t have a single incident of anxiety, ptsd and the depression is on the back burner for now. Keep your fingers crossed that there will more days like this – It was nice! Hope everyone has a fun, safe evening!

November 1, 2013 at 4:15 am #904845In the new area we moved to we don’t have any kids so didn’t get anyone at the door tonight. I was trying to program my TV as we just got cable in and caught a couple Halloween shows and then went to a church class. It was a slow Halloween night but I just wanted to keep it relaxed anyway as I have been sick for a few days and am finally starting to get better. I hope everyone had a good Halloween!

November 2, 2013 at 10:26 pm #904896I got some trick-or-treaters, but not nearly as many as I was expecting. They mostly seemed to come in groups this year, some of them large groups! I stayed home, watched Michael Myers movies (my favorite of the big horror series [the old John Carpenter ones!], and of course the best-suited for Halloween!), and gave out candy. My husband was out helping our friend move. We have a huge bowl of candy left. Good thing we mostly got the types of candy we like a lot. I have to take it easy, though. Can’t eat this stuff like I used to. Too much sugar! :O
We carved a jack-o-lantern (I usually draw a fanged, grinning face on it and my husband carves), and I was going to do my usual tradition of standing it up on some crates and wrapping a hooded cloak around it, but couldn’t find the cloak this year. So it just sat there looking like a normal jack-o-lantern, and I was too disappointed to get a picture of it. It’s begun to age now so a pic now wouldn’t really be any good.
Formerly had the Batman & Joker avatar!
