Thank you, everyone! π
I will not be celebrating my birthday until this weekend, so I have nothing fun to report yet. Hopefully Iβll add at least one Windstone to my collection π
However, today, when I attempted to make an online credit card payment, I noticed someone illegally used my credit card number several days ago to make a pricey purchase at Best Buy πΏ Funny how the crook can afford an HDTV but I canβt! They could have at least invited me over to watch Planet Earth, since I did pay for the tv and all π How rude!
But it is all OK, because it is hard to stay angry for long when you have three adorable baby squirrels needing care π
May 4, 2007 at 1:49 am #570185That’s horrible!!! Were you able to get it straightened out?
May 4, 2007 at 3:17 am #570186Not yet. As I’m learning (and to my frustration), itβs a long and annoying process. I’m only in the first stage; my credit card company can’t proceed or start the resolution process until they get an official copy of the purchase receipt from the store, which can take up to six weeks π
They froze my account so at least no more surprise purchases. Well, not on that credit card anyways.
I’m trying to not worry too much since I have no control over the situation. If it ends unfavorably, I’m sure I’ll start some rant thread. Until then, maybe I’ll consider soothing my anxiety with a Windstone, which I guess I won’t be purchasing with my credit card π

TY, me too.
And ty Ruffian.
If I end up getting a Windstone, I’ll make sure I post pictures of him here.
May 5, 2007 at 3:43 am #570190That sucks, looks like the negative is still going around. Do you have to file a police report as well?

No, my credit card company didn’t ask me too. However, I plan to call them back up soon with a list of questions because I wasn’t exactly satisfied with our first conversation. I will add that to my list of things to ask.

May 7, 2007 at 11:12 am #570193Happy Belated Birthday. π
I’m sorry someone used your credit card number. The store will end up paying for that. There is really no way they can charge the person who did it unless they were ultra stupid and got delivery. I do hate when that happens. π
But six weeks? When we get a credit slip retrieval we have 24 hours to fax it to the credit office. How can it take six weeks? Well, I’m sure you’ll get your money back at least. π
I hate it when cashiers don’t check signatures or if the numbers on the card match the numbers that came up on the reciept. That is one of my biggest pet peeves. You don’t know how many times I’ve seen cashiers swipe a card and just hand it back to the customer. Idiots! π But, one good thing, my store broke up a stollen credit card ring. We were intramental in getting I think three of the five people arrested. But really once it’s done there is no way to go after them unless they try again.
