I won a Peacock Oriental Sun Dragon on Ebay. This Windstone was among 20 or so that were discovered by someone that had closed thier business years ago and just went through the storage they had and came across them all still Brand New in Unopened Boxes from the factory…………….What a find ! Anyways i won the peacock sun and he has NO hangtag and i was told that some did not ,cause the tags were just starting to be put out . SO… heres my question…….Did some of the Oriental Suns have NO hangtags when they were put out????? I asked Melody and shes checking ,but I thought maybe some of you would know.
yes, there were quite a few things that didn’t have hang tags when they were new.. the first batches of peacock sun dragons didn’t, as well as first batches of regular orientals..
even some of the first Peacock OW’s didn’t have them.. I bought one brand new and it didn’t..
I think sometimes even when there were hangtags.. they just didn’t find their way on..
Sometimes they don’t find their way on the eBay pieces, either. My Sitting Sparrow Griffin Chick and Autumn Leaf OW didn’t have one.
Yes, my Grey Bengal Male Griffin, Brown Bengal Female Griffin, Bengal Flapcat & artist edition Poads all have hangtags.
Just in case anyone ever asks, my Artists’ Edition pieces do NOT come with hangtags (mostly because I don’t get any to attach to them XD ).

Melody got back to me and she said they were supposed to have the tags. But this guy that sold it to me said it was from a batch of Windstones he discovered in storage awhile after his business closed cause he used to be a Windstone dealer. He had said the box was never opened till he placed it on Ebay and needed pics…

did you already buy the dragon? because one good way to tell.. is if there ever was a hang tag, there would be a noticeable crease in the felt where the string was..

You mentioned you would have rather had a white one…..I didnt know the Oriental Sun came in white .unless you got a special piece?
I sure did look at the felt . Theres not much there on the Orientals but the felt looks brand new and no creases. Its perfectly clean.
I also had another question if someone knows…………………..I know they put out the Oriental Sun and the Oriental young in the ruby but …….Did the Oriental come out in ruby too???

regular oriental didn’t come out in ruby, but the sun and young did.. Melody said she might do a regular oriental in ruby some day.. but not sure now with casting problems and the red paint issues..
to answer your other question, the Sun dragon came out in White pearl, on ebay, but it really wasn’t the White color I liked, and could have use the money more.. so I sold it..Melody said the white like the other production whites was too icky to put on the orientals.. although I think I might like it.. and a couple other people might too..
and if your felt is clean and flat.. then they just didn’t happen to get a hang tag on there.. because if it had one to begin with.. you would be able to tell there was one especially if they cut it or pulled it out..I have peacock oriental sun and young dragons, and neither have hang tags. I think that they started putting hang tags on Windstones around 2000, so many of the older pieces don’t have them. Peacock orientals have been retired for awhile now, so it’s not surprising that it doesn’t have one. The only ones that definitely should have hang tags are the rubies.
