well, not to upset the apple cart melody, but i have three pieces with a copyright date on the hangtag that are dated 1999. one is a panther gargoyle, another the male kirin and the other was a hatching empress. i bought the panther in the store myself still sealed in a box, so i know it came on him originally..the tag on the gargoyle was labeled as a gargoyle with the story behind them inside, but my newer ones have a 2000 date. hopefully that helps. 🙂 the pena logo/signature on the front was silvery instead of golden too.

Interesting! That makes sense, Jeff must of found one of copyrights that we filed.

We got the idea for the tags when we did the Hatching Tortoise and the baby Kirin, because we included little cards with them. Those info. cards always got lost in the stores, so we thought it would be cool to attach something descriptive to the sculpture … so it was a while after the baby Kirin first came out, whenever that was…ah…here is a baby kirin. It’s date is ’92.
Oh yes!… and the old Prototype Warriors did not have them, that puts it after ’97.

My original brown male and mother had pads and where bought new in July 1988. I do not think my whites or emeralds have hang tags either. I’m at work other wise I would check
