So I just bought my first windstone peices from the store. The mother peacock griffin and her chick, which are so beautiful! Anywho I live on a large horse farm with a rather long driveway that forks. One side leads to the stables and the other leads to the house. The house is gated but there is a call box that calls the house so we can open the gate. Well I knew the package was coming so I waited and waited and finally I had to go over to the barn to ride one of my horses and there is my package on one of the trash cans by the barn!! I was so lucky I found it. It would have been horrible if it got thrown away! We have people who work at our barn that the mail person could have given it to. Grrr the mail person. I guess next time I need to sign for it so theres no chance it will be thrown away.

Oh no! I would issue a complaint to your post office. Say that postal workers cannot leave packages on the trash cans– that’s just asking for them to be thrown away! It might be nice to point out to whomever you talk to that if it has been thrown away that the post office would be paying for it, if it was insured. They may not care, but the idea of having to go through an insurance claim may be enough to make them at least put the box someplace safe.
If you can, it really really pays to get to know your mail carrier. We are lucky to have a very nice lady and I usually talk to her a bit, and we give her cards at holidays, etc… Getting to know them makes them see you as a person and not just someplace they deliver mail to, and they will be more likely to make things right with your mail. Plus, it’s nice to show that we appreciate all their hard work! π

This is a new mail person. Our other mail lady would always come to the house with packages and was really sweet. I hope she is ok. π
May 2, 2008 at 5:10 pm #695776we never have the same delivery person…it’s always someone new every day…
it’s a bit annoying because one day we will get a lot of mail…and the next we will get one piece of junk mail.. π― π
May 2, 2008 at 5:23 pm #695777We’ve always had the same postal guy for as long as I can remember. I can hear his truck park and I run out to meet him to get my package. I’ve gotten so many he knows me by now “here you go, another one!” lol and he knows my sister too, since half the time I’m at work and she takes them for me. I should give him a christmas card this year π
May 2, 2008 at 6:57 pm #695778We have several different mail people. Our packages get delivered twice a day, 11:00 am and 3:00 pm and regular mail is at 4:00pm. I usually give out small packs of chocolate at Christmas. π
