griffin #2- real feathers- pics

I was so close to keeping this one for myself—

I gotta tell you she was a fighter- I was going to cover her whole body but I got half way there and didn’t like it- I ripped off half the feathers (cried- I’m serious)and had to put her aside for a while. When I came back I worked some more and LOVED how she turned out.
Do you guys like the idea or hate? I already listed her but still would love some feedback.

It’s really weird, but it is kind of neat… I can’t really decide if I like it or not.

I think that’s pretty spiffy! 😀 The only thing I don’t like is how the bottom plaster wing feathers meld with the real ones… it’s a bit of a contrast. But otherwise I think this is awesome.

I know- its kinda funny– I had it half done and then ripped half of the feathers off- cried not only out of frustration– but the fact that I paid about $20 for the feathers… and had to ruin them to get them off 😯
It has grown on me tho so I can keep her if no one really like her 🙂 hehe

I have to say this is one I don’t like. The colors of the feathers don’t go with the colors of the griffin. And to me putting the feather on it makes it seem cheap.

I think it was a bold idea and took some courage to do. I think if you refined the process of feather placement a little and some color blending the effect would be even more pronounced. Good work though.

yup- sun conure and a multitude of others– there are a couple of african grey– and some others I couldn’t identify. I bought them on ebay– the woman obviously has a lot of different birds 🙂

I was thinking of doing something similar to this but I never got around to finding *worthy* feathers =) I think it looks really nice! Now I probably won’t do it thogh becuase it won’t look nearly as nice as yours =D LOL!
