Those are beautiful babies (and I can sympathize with mum!)

August 11, 2008 at 10:42 pm #727494What health testing have the parents have?
What conformation and working titles do they have?
August 11, 2008 at 11:40 pm #727495The parents themselves have had annual wellness checks at the Vet. Also x-rays as adults that showed no problems.
The parents of the male (Grandparents) are AKC registered Danes that have had blood work done. She saw the paperwork but didn’t think to request copies. I’m not familiar enough with the Breed and what is needed to tell you much more than that. He was a “pet quality” puppy as his markings were apparently not what they were looking for. Also he was the last of the litter so they got him inexpensively, comparatively speaking.
The female is about the same. Parents were AKC and well kept and tested. However the owners were getting divorced and just getting rid of the puppies.
Ashley knows so many people that want Danes but can’t afford them that she was thinking she would breed and sell the puppies at a low cost for those who wanted good quality pets and not necessarily show dogs.
She is planning on this being the only litter. After the puppies are weaned Snoopy will be getting spayed.Go ahead Click one http://dragcave.net/user/khat7

She did get a Dane through a rescue organization a few years ago. A beautiful fawn colored one about two years old. We all loved him. They (the rescue place) had supposedly had him all checked out. She came home one evening about three months later and found him dead. She didn’t want to go through that again and thought she’d have better luck with buying. She actually had decided to get Snoopy spayed last July but she was already in heat. Her husband forgot and left the dogs in the pen together for a few hours π They didn’t think anything had happened π π Actually he didn’t think. She was just hoping π Like I said this will be the only litter
August 12, 2008 at 2:41 am #727498Well I hope she spays and neuters the pups BEFORE they go to their new homes, because if they each have “just one litter” that is easily 50 dogs as a result of her “just one litter”.
August 12, 2008 at 2:54 am #727499She’s already brought that up. All the puppies but one are male. Do you know how old they have to be first?
Our whole family gets most of our pets as rescues of one sort or another and all have been spayed or neutered. Except her Danes, LOL and they are next.
My beloved Alf and his sister were found in a ditch off the highway near our home πΏ We actually tracked down the people who dumped them to see if they had any more puppies. Small town, not that hard to do.August 12, 2008 at 3:04 am #727500You will need to find a vet that will do puppy altering, being danes it should be easier, because it is based on weight. But it can be done as young as 6 weeks, and since the need to stay with mom until at least 8 you have some time to have them healed before they go home.
August 12, 2008 at 6:30 pm #727501Isn’t there a laser surgery (ridiculously expensive) that can be done earlier then the traditional surgery? One that has less recovery time? They asked me if we wanted it for Kimi when we brought her in, but I don’t remember the specifics… We said no.. can’t afford that, and we didn’t get 50% off with it. Just the traditional surgery (Grande Prairie SPCA makes you spay the pets, they don’t do it themselves).
