April 16, 2010 at 2:01 pm #810762I am glad she is feeling better and they helped the swelling. I hope its not reocurring.
April 16, 2010 at 4:01 pm #810763I talked to my grandma this morning, and she is supposed to get the scope done in about 1/2 an hour. It was funny because she was saying how she slept like a baby last night, and it was the best sleep she had for weeks! Despite that she woke up three times because of nurses and going to the bathroom. She was like, “I spilled some water on the bathroom floor, and I got a paper towel and wiped it up! And it didn’t phase me!” I feel so thrilled that she is feeling better! She had so many things that were bothering her these last few weeks, like restless legs, lack of breathing, the doctors thinking she had sleep apnea, etc, and now that will all go away as long as her blood count stays normal! That is why I am praying that the scope will locate the cause of her internal bleeding!!! Keep your fingers crossed!!! Thank you all for being so caring!! :hi:
April 17, 2010 at 3:36 am #810764I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they find out why her blood count is low! 🙂
April 17, 2010 at 5:14 pm #810765Happy to see progress and hope grandma comes home soon! Hugs and prayers! 🙂
April 18, 2010 at 6:16 pm #810766Hopefully the doctors can find out what is going on with your grandma, but I’m glad she is doing better!
One of my coworkers was bleeding internally and was getting blood clots in his legs. He had to take a medical leave for a while and work from home until things settled a bit and he could drive. They never did find what caused the bleeding after all the testing they did. He gets checked on every so often though, just in case.
April 18, 2010 at 11:07 pm #810767This is good news!!
April 20, 2010 at 7:12 am #810768Sorry I haven’t given you guys an update, because I have been gone the last couple of days. Anyway, they found that my grandma had an ulcer that was absorbing a lot of her blood. I guess that ulcers do that, but not all of them absorb blood so quickly, like grandma’s did. She said that she feels like she is 77 again, and not 1771 lol, I love her humor. I am SO glad they found the cause, because otherwise she would have had to go for transfusions every couple weeks. They gave her meds to get rid of the ulcer. Thank you for your well wishes for her!!! I am thrilled she is feeling better! 🙂
April 20, 2010 at 1:02 pm #810769I’m glad too. ♥ She sounds like such a fun person 😀
April 20, 2010 at 1:33 pm #810770I’m also glad she’s feeling better, and that they found the cause!
April 20, 2010 at 2:18 pm #810771Its Great to hear that she’s doing well and that they were able to find what was wrong and fix it 😀
April 20, 2010 at 3:27 pm #810772Glad you gave us an update. I was just searching for this thread to see how she was doing! Very happy she’s feeling better!
April 20, 2010 at 7:41 pm #810773That’s great news. Glad she’s feeling better.
April 21, 2010 at 1:57 am #810774AnonymousHi Eaglefeathers,
I saw this actuve thread and wondered about the topic. Your grandma is only 77 and should have quite a few years in her! From the sounds of it, she is active and now that they found an ulcer (wow I didn’t know an ulcer could do such things!) she should be repaired and back to being the nurturing soul you are accustomed to having. You said you love her humour; I have found the older I get that I finally have come to realize our minds are as they always were, and only the body ages….. your grandma was and is a good person. We should all be so lucky to become the person we wished we could have always been! Sending good thoughts your way to you both! (I re-read what I typed and not sure it comes out right, but it is meant to be very sincere!)
🙂
