The only issue with splitting the batch is that when they restock the item, doesn’t the limit reset? So people online all day could grab 2. Not sure if there’s a way around that or not.
September 18, 2011 at 9:19 pm #857000With the last batch of babies, Windstone asked those who purchased two from the first main bunch not to purchase more from the 24 put in later. It seemed to work. 🙂
September 18, 2011 at 10:29 pm #857005If the batch is split into two sets, one morning, one evening, then I would only get my 1-2 unis from one of the batches. I can adhere to that. I still think the limit should stay 2 though.
September 18, 2011 at 11:05 pm #857008YES 2 PER HOUSEHOLD ONLY! 2 HOW COME SOME CAN”T STICK TO THAT! 😐 THAT WAY MAYBE THERE WOULD BE MORE TO GO AROUND AND THOSE THAT HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY WOULD HAVE A CHANCE!

Houses with more than one collector could get one each – houses with one collector would get one each. No weirdness if you live with 20 people in a commune who all collect.
Also, if you want to be sneaky and make extra accounts, it’s probably faster to order 2 per house and send them to work, your mom, etc, than to set up accounts and order them one at a time…
September 19, 2011 at 12:43 am #857020While I would like the limit to be 2, I think limit 1 in one big batch is most fair. Unless they can find a way to add two batches with the same limit.
I don’t know that there is really a big issue of people cheating the system, I think they’re just really popular. From the picture thread it seems pretty obvious that lots of people are getting them. To be honest it’s kind of annoying that every time people start discussing the unicorns and the limits people have to comment accusing others of making fake accounts or buying from additional batches when asked not to. There hasn’t been any evidence that people on the forum are going to go and make eighty accounts to buy the whole batch, and yet already people are posting that others better not do that.
let’s just be happy and excited for more unicorns. No need to be mean. They’re sparkly unicorns after all 🙂

Ditto!
September 19, 2011 at 12:58 am #857023I would sell any Grab Bag Baby or Young that I did not love, but people want to pick and choose once they leave the Store. I like the really wild ones that I saw on the Livestream feed; I do not like the ones patterned after horses. If someone wants to buy a plain horse-patterned Baby or Young from me sight unseen, just as they would get it from the Store, I would certainly sell to someone who never got one, and at store price too. I hate taking pictures, and it is not worth the hassle to me to try for the few wild, fantasy-colored pieces only to end up with a palomino, buckskin, dun, paint, etc.
September 19, 2011 at 1:45 am #857030Oh, I didn’t mean to imply forum members are gaming the system. 🙂 Honestly, I don’t know that anyone is. But there has been a lot of concern about it anyway and a limit of 1 would help eliminate that if it were happening.
There must be a lot of people buying who don’t post too. Are there really 60+ actively posting members?
September 19, 2011 at 4:01 am #856926Splitting the batch into morning and afternoon halves is a great idea, Jenn. I missed the Aug 30 batch and the following 24 babies because I work an afternoon/evening shift.
Also, I would love to see a GB young uni class photo, once they’re all done.

We have a lot of forum members that no longer post (for various reasons), even more than never posted at all, and a bunch of folks that are collectors that have no interest in forums. There are also active forum members that cannot or do not buy grab bags, so there are many variables.
We do have quite a few active accounts though.

I wasn’t referring to your comment, no worries. And I think chessie posted a list of the names after Hannah was doing the website for the youngs, and there were a ton I’d never heard of on there. So there’s definitely people getting them who never post on the forums about it. 😀
